Geico set me up with Gerber Collision since they were the only shop available the week of my car being in an accident. I have a brand new Mazda MX5 with only 2k miles.

The front desk clerk was very welcoming, but my repair specialist, Bryan, seemed to only look at me as a number. I understood that they have many clientele with set deadlines per week. He rushed me in and out with my estimate, again I did not mind, and promised me a set date for my car to be repaired.

I understand collision centers always underestimate the duration needed to get the work done all the time so they tend to not stay true to the first promised date given. However, 1 week turned to another week and then another. I was being proactive at first and made sure to call two days before the date due to prevent me from not getting my hopes up. During all this, I was borrowing a relative's car, so time was essential.

Brian continued to push the pick-up date back because of how busy and understaffed they were. At this point, I was irritated as they were promising me my vehicle with set dates without following through. I would have preferred that Gerber Collision maintained proper communication and told me upfront that the pick-up date is still unknown.

I finally received a call from Brian that they cleaned my car and had it ready that night. I gladly came in and they did a good job fixing the damage made to my vehicle. However, I only noticed the day after that my car was definitely not washed and very dusty, outside and inside. It was very dark the night when I picked up my Mazda.

In the morning, I was able to get a proper view of my car. There were swirl marks all over that were not there before and overall, my car was dirty. I have a detailer I take my car to since I first bought it two months ago to avoid having marks in the first place. I immediately called Gerber the day after explaining them to fix the mess they had made since it was not like that when I turned my car in. Yet, the conversation was essentially Brian talking in a roundabout way that it was not their fault. I had to pressure him into seeing my Mazda to have it detailed by them. He promised a date so I can drop by and have their professional detailer check the car, but, unsurprisingly, he pushed the date back another day because of under staffing.

Finally, I took time off from work to drop by and have my car checked out. Bryan seemed overall annoyed that I even came by and said he will try and have his detailer look it over because he has to take his lunch. I only wanted my car fixed so I tried not to mind. It took him 20 min to come back and say they did nothing wrong. Like on the phone, he kicked around the bush saying they do a great job and they wouldn't have made those marks in the first place. He told me to take it to my detailer since it was probably them that did it prior. Basically, they did not want to detail it or even pay for it to be done. Fed up, I asked how is it possible they "cleaned" it if I received the vehicle as dusty as it was? Again, he kicked the bush around and said he only has one detail person so they are understaffed. Bryan never attempted to offer any help and only responded to take it to my detailer.

The whole point to this review is that you can do a great job at your work, but customer service works hand-in-hand. I have no complaints to the job they did to my car; you could not even tell it was damaged in an accident. However, they dropped the ball by not being transparent and owning up to mistakes. What was most irritating is that Brian did not pave any conversation in regards my car's paint swirls. Either you say yes you did it and claim responsibility or be upfront and say it is on me, even though I know for a fact it occurred at Gerber. Because of Bryan’s roundabout ways, he had me taking off time from work to only have me standing like an idiot in his parking lot explaining to me how swirl marks work and that my car did not have any; all while we were right in front of my car with obvious swirl marks.

I hit a pole while parking my car in my garage. The bumper was loose and paint scraps all over. I took it to Gerber since I had used them previously for a major repair. The gentlemen checked it out and said they might be able to fix it easily. He came back a few minutes later. All fixed, no charge. I would definitely take my car back there. Thanks so much.

I was rear ended. Went to a body shop my insurance company preferred, Gerber. My insurance company contacted me, same the day I planned on picking up my car. They said the other party took responsibility. Gerber was informed and my deductible was waived and I owed nothing. I get my car, it looks good. I'm happy and leave. Then 3 weeks later Gerber keeps calling me saying I owe them $156 for a "betterment" and they will take a credit card over the phone. Then, I get a letter from them threatening to take me to collections. I really regret giving them a great rating when I picked up my car. My final bill from them says "Balance due from customer $0.00." I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! They bully you for more money after the fact. What a dirty way to do business!!!!

Took in my civic for repair last year. Needed a paint job on the front bumper, a new engine splash guard and a front grill. Their technician told me it would take a few months for the front engine splash guards part to arrive (I needed both front and back guards replaced) so I was offered to take my vehicle back for the time being. No problem. I also noted to the technician that the clear coat job was sloppy (it looks like there are water droplets all around the headlights where they applied the clear coat too heavily and didn't bother to sand it). He offered to resand and buff it out when I come back for my front engine splash guard reinstall. Sure, cool. Not to mention, the front bumper they had freshly painted was damaged because they were careless when installing the front grill and chipped off a tiny portion of the paint. Don't you guys have like microfiber towels or something to protect paint during re-installation It was small enough to bother me considering it was a fresh paint job but not big enough for me to stomp my feet over it. So be it. Drove off the lot and immediately heard scraping driving up golden valley. Checked under the car and they didn't secure the splash back splash guard they had just installed and it as a result already had a few scrapes .. Whatever, I don't see it anyways i thought so I moved on with my life after they secured it when i brought it back. Note that it had already been over a month that they had my car at this point. Another month goes by and I call back (I've spent hours on hold with them btw to be sent to voicemail or hung up on) because I wasn't updated about the status of my part and I was told the technician working on my car had moved locations and my car work was left unassigned or whatever wording they used. Okay.... A few weeks go by from that point and they call me to finally schedule my last piece to be installed. At this point I was already disappointed but not enough to leave a bad review. That was until today. Only 3 months later, while driving, the bolts/rivets/ whatever they had placed to hold the front and back engine splash guard came undone and started scraping again. Extremely disappointed with the quality of repair and service received. I'd highly recommend the Gerber in Newhall which I intended to go to initially but clicked the wrong one with my insurance. They are much better all around with extremely kind service and quick repair times. I'd avoid golden valley Gerber at all costs if possible. I'll update this review with photos at a later time when possible.

Very professional and informative. I appreciate their kindness and great work ethics on my vehicles. I've already taken 2 of my cars for repairs due to accidents. As well as recommended a family friend to Gerber Collision. They took care of them and did not disappoint.
They went even further by coordinating with the rental company to pick up the client from their shop and take them over to pick up their rental, which was covered through other parties' insurance. GREAT SERVICE, you won't regret it.

I was referred to this shop by GEICO. My car had been broken into and two of my windows were shattered along with some damage to my door and door handle. The whole repair took almost a month with the estimate taking almost two weeks! It was ridiculous. My husband and I understood that they were understaffed and that they had delays with parts but every time I would call, they’d push the pick up date and time. Then when I picked up my car late Friday, they failed to tint my small back window (I drive a civic). I didn’t notice until after they closed and unfortunately they were closed all weekend. This morning I called and they said it would take FOUR to FIVE hours to tint one of my windows. I didn’t want to bring my car to them any longer so we took it to a different shop where it only took 15 mins. Not coming here again.

Geico sent me here. While my car was there, the shop filled in a preexisting scratch without my permission. I already had an order to have the scratch filled in by the dealership at which I purchased the car. Gerber didn't even match the color properly, and it drives me wild having to see it every time I go to my car. Fixing the paint mismatch now involves sanding down the entire area and respraying, which costs much much much more than the gas I would've used to have the initial scratch filled at the dealership for free.

The front desk said it was a "courtesy" and was baffled I was upset, but then the head mechanic denied it shortly after. Mama mia. Stay away, even if Geico sends you here.

I took my car into the repaired after an auto accident. The gentleman who handled my case was named Mike, he was professional, very knowledgeable and was a pleasure to do business with.

I I took my car in on a Monday, and at 2:30 on Tuesday, my car was ready. I was very pleased with the quick return time of my vehicle.

I would highly recommend Gerber Collision & Glass.
