We have recently moved to Pleasanton and were exploring the places around when we entered this store. And we were totally impressed by the collection and the variety of the food we get here. Very nicely arranged and user friendly store. Carries the charm of Pleasanton and it’s people. Would be visiting this store on a regular basis now! Must visit!

This is such an amazing grocery store! It’s clear that the owners and staff take good care of it: there’s a ton of interesting variety, reasonable prices, and very nice displays of unique foods.

I’ve been looking for a place with marinated meats for grilling, and they have a huge selection — way better than Safeway and double what Whole Foods has. Their beer aisle is also really cute, with neon logos.

They also have a deli counter where you can get affordable sandwiches. Nice place to pick up a quick lunch!

Gene's is a full-service food store with top shelf items in every category. Their prices are really quite competitive although you might think they were higher than other stores.
Much better than Safeway in every way.

They have a huge meat counter with everything you could want. Even dry aged beef. The produce was perfect, not a single wilted pice of lettuce. The staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is amazing. They have a lot of metal accents around the store and they really made shopping visually pleasurable. Oftentimes I have been to grocery stores with cracked tiles and dirty windows, and that kind of thing really makes you not want to eat the food there, bit that's not the case at Gene's. Absolutely I will come back here and shop, and I will recommend it to my friends. It's even cool just to walk around and windows shop.
