This winery is master chief approved. Great venue a little off the beaten path and well worth a visit. I’m told they gave a bed and breakfast on premise if you want to stay the night. If you like to cycling bring your bike as the back roads are great for working out to feel better about that bottle wine.

This place is a hidden gem. Laura is absolutely amazing. The wines are so incredible! We ended up buying 5 wines!!! I’ve never bought that many different wines at one winery.

They have a cute selection of shirts and gifts as well.

We will definitely be back!!!

I simply can not say enough good things about General's Ridge. We had the pleasure/privilege of meeting the owners, Rick and Linda. They're wonderful people and genial hosts. The staff is wonderful including Martha who went out of her way to make our stay pleasant. It's a working 33 acre vineyard, but the wine is actually made offsite. There's a great tasting room (Both inside and outside seating) where you can get light appetizers. Rick and Linda host local artists, a new one every 4 - 6 weeks. For openings for new artists, they host a tasting event. You can buy the art. Did I mentioned the wines are excellent!?!||||There are two lodgings on site: the Manor house and Vineyard views. Manor house is an original structure that's been updated and is cozy. We stayed in Vineyard Views which is new (Comparatively) and comfortable and tastefully decorated.||||Rick and Linda can host events (Family get togethers, weddings, etc.). If you're planning something special, I'd urge you to give them a call.||||We'll definitely be going back. A word of advice, rely on your GPS (Not your cell) as cell reception is a little spotty. Once you're there, it's worth it!

I will say all the wines here we have tried have been awesome. Especially the white wines. So I only gave four stars do to the covid-19 nonsense as we could not do a full tasting. I will say they do have a wide variety of white and red wines and blends of each. Also their prices are extremely good for a Virginia Private Winery. finally there outside seating area is rather small so this is not necessarily a bring your picnic in hangout kind of Winery although their tasting room when it reopens has plenty of room.
