Our family has had a wonderful experience at GPC! The small setting creates a special dynamic where every child feels seen and supported. The head teacher, Ms. Jenny, is truly exceptional—her dedication, patience, and passion for early childhood education shine through in everything she does.

The mixed-age classroom is a huge benefit, allowing younger kids to learn from older peers while older children build leadership skills. It’s especially great for kids born a little after the kindergarten cutoff, giving them the chance to grow alongside older role models while receiving age-appropriate support.

One of the most special aspects of this school is the parent involvement. Being “Parent of the Day” gives us the unique opportunity to be part of our child’s learning experience, see the teachers in action, and connect with the school community in a meaningful way.

We feel so lucky to be part of this school and highly recommend it!

Wonderful school! My daughter started it this year. It's the Christmas holidays now, and she says every day, “I want teachers!”. When I pick her up at 4 pm instead of 6 pm, she doesn't want to leave. Kids love it! As parents, we are very happy with the school, it's very transparent, and every parent is involved in the school life.

With 3 children and five years at Garden Preschool, I can tell you that this has been an incomparable place for our children's early years. The progressive curriculum, emphasis on global issues (from multiculturalism to the environment), and focus on the whole child have tremendously enriched our children's lives and sensibilities (even ten years later). In a true cooperative sense, parents are collaboratively involved in nearly every aspect, and have the opportunity to spend time with their child and their child's peers in the classroom, on the playground and on field trips, which is special for both the kids and parents.

The space is wonderful and in a beautiful building, I felt very comfortable bringing my son here everyday. Being part of this coop has made us feel very at home in Jersey City. We had a great experience with both of our kids at Garden. The space, teachers and proximity to Hamilton Park are all excellent. If you are in JC and can commit to the roughly 1X month Parent of the Day responsibility I highly recommend looking into Garden Preschool Cooperative.

My daughter absolutely loves Garden Preschool Cooperative (GPC). Every day when I pick her up, she wants to stay to play more with her teachers and friends. GPC also offers a unique and invaluable opportunity to get to know all the classmates and their families first-hand. On top of that, the kids get to play in Hamilton Park every day. Highly recommend GPC!

Both of our children went to GPC and I highly recommend this school to anyone in the JC / Hoboken area. The play-based curriculum, parent involvement, small class size and mix of ages make this a fantastic "first" school experience. The school is also highly beneficial to newcomers to the area looking to find community. I made many friends and keep in contact with so many of the families we met.
