We visited this shop the last time we were in Holly visiting family from the East Coast. Their brats are some of the best I've had and their venison bacon is absolutely awesome! At this point, I am not sure we'll be going back to Holly for family or for Game Time Meats!

Some of what they did with my husband's deer was good. But MOST of what they did... They offered breakfast sausage. What we got was loose meat and frozen - expecting people to thaw, divide then refreeze. NEVER a good thing. The 1 lb pack of burger was well over a pound and frozen solid. Meat wasn't cut/packaged evenly. Overall NOT a good experience.

I heard good things and read good reviews so I took a chance bringing my deer in for processing. Overall had a fairly poor experience.

Selection is minimal for cuts; you get basic or sausage and jerky options, no steak out, no butterflying, ECT.

Friendly faces in store but poor communication elsewhere. 5 phone calls over a 2 week period and was only able to get through once, with irritable and rude customer service over phone.

No ETA on when your deer will be finished, just "we will call you when it's done"". Well after almost 5 weeks you're left wondering if they even still have your deer.

Packaging is decent but leaves some things to be desired. Had a back strap with a puncture and frost inside the vacuum sealed package. Labeling is minimal and with no poundage listed so you don't know how much meat you're actually getting back.

Got my mount back, amazing work!

Started Great... but not so sure now.
I shot my first 8-point buck, which also happened to be my first harvest with a bow and first time calling a buck in, on November 1st 2023. Called GameTime Meats as soon as I got my buck loaded in the truck. It was after hours but Kane was still there and stuck around for me to drop it off.
He took his time with me in selecting my processing package and taxidermy selection, I never felt rushed which is a plus these days.
Processing turnaround time was decent given the amount of deer coming in. Cuts were great, packaging was perfect, Jerky is the best I have ever had. I was told my European mount would be ready by spring of 2024 since they utilize the beetle method and it takes a bit longer, this is understandable.
We are now nearing the end of September 2024 and the start of a new season and I have yet to receive my mount. I have called several times (monthly) and I am simply told "we are working on it", "we got more than we expected", "we had to get new beetles", the list goes on.
Not once was I asked for my name, or my receipt number to check the status or give me an update that will make me feel they are trying.
I was lucky enough to harvest another 8-point elsewhere in Michigan on the firearm opener. I brought that buck to a different location and received the mount back 6 weeks later.

Without a doubt I recommend having your game processed here. But as of the time of writing this review, I advise taking your business elsewhere for taxidermy.
I will follow up on this review when/if I ever get my mount back.

I just wanted to say shoutout to Game time meats I’ve take my deer to many places trying to find a reasonable price and also quality work. After getting my order i am more than pleased with the end product the jerkey is outstanding definitely will be coming back thank you again game time.

UPDATE 4/4/25: We called again for an update and again were told “I don’t know why someone would tell you that”. They also told us our buck is going out with the next shipment and should be ready in 2 months. We asked if that is for sure (since we have been told that before) and they said “Yes, I’m looking at your ticket right now”.

UPDATE 3/31:25: A little over 16 months ago we took our deer to GTM for processing and taxidermy services. Originally we had a great experience (and I've left my original review below). We also brought in a deer this season to be processed, and were happy with that as well. Their taxidermy services are where we're having issues... Originally we were told our deer (Dropped off to GTM in Nov. 2023) would take all of a year to complete. We agreed to this timeline and were so excited to see it next season. But there has continuously been delay after delay with no clear reasoning or expectations. We're now having to come to terms with the fact that we might not ever get it. Throughout the past almost 17 months we have reached out for updates multiple times. Our experience is:
1. They don't answer or call back
2. They say they took on too much work, and are doing the best they can
3. They're outsourcing the work now to catch up
4. There is a cape shortage in Michigan and they're waiting on that
5. It is what it is, and we can't give you a timeline

When we called two months ago, we asked for the information of whoever they have doing our mount now. They did not provide this information, but they did say they found our buck, made sure it was in the next 'load', and we should expect it back in the next month. Great!!! But, when a month went by and we called about picking it up soon, we were told they "have no idea" who would've told us that, there's a cape shortage, and they can't give us a timeline of when it will be done. At this point we are just hoping for something back, whether that be the mount, or just the antlers and cape for us to take it elsewhere. It really sucks, because their work in the shop is beautiful and we liked the idea of supporting local. Now I don't even know where our deer is, who is doing it, and what their work looks like. We aren't worried about the money, we are just worried about this incredibly sentimental thing that we trusted GTM with. Like I said, the meat from them has been great, and I'm still including my original review below. I am just so tired of watching someone I love feel so distressed and heartbroken about trusting the wrong company. It's a mistake we won't make twice.

ORIGINAL: Just picked up our deer, we had a great experience with GTM. My family friend used them and was really pleased, recommend them to my Dad who said it’s the best venison he’s ever gotten. My brother and husband both decided to used them based on these referrals. I especially appreciate how they package the meat. We’re very pleased with our experience and end product and can’t wait for our Mount to be ready too! Would definitely recommend!

I received a very unexpected call from Kane's wife. She apologized for everything that happened with my order and said they would complete my mount and have it ready while also waiving the remainder of the cost.

They came through on their promise. I received the mount and the quality of the work was great.

They're truly turning things around in their business. They're putting in the time and energy to restore their client relationships, catch up on past orders, and make things right across the board.

I can honestly say that they have regained my trust and I will be a returning customer, along with the group of people that I hunt with. I'm very pleased.
