Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers - San Marcos, California

I stepped into Freddy’s in San Marcos ready to try something new. There was a poster of their Chicken Club Sandwich that looked screaming delicious! I had my order taken by Gabriel, who was friendly and willing to share her personal experience with that sandwich. I was sold! I got the grilled one instead of the battered one since mom needs to watch her intake. The healthier option was a great selection. The sandwich was worth every bite!

Management can be sure that the colleagues running this store are spot on with their behavior, mannerisms, and the level of customer service that I received. The store was about to get busy, as I stepped into at about 5:15 PM and it was dinner time. The staff seemed like they really loved their jobs and that says a lot about a franchise. I will definitely be returning for quality customer service and satisfaction. Kudos to this team. They made my experience awesome.

Great variety of American "Classics", done right and dare I say even better than the normal classics you would expect! Double smashed steak burgers, like your classic double cheeseburger only better quality. The smashed style and probably higher quality meat make it have a lovely crispy sear that is quite delicious. They have some awesome extra toppings too, like grilled jalapeños, grilled onions, and sauerkraut (homemade?) which you can add.

I highly recommend ordering through the app as I wouldn't have even known about those extra special (FREE) toppings otherwise, but now that I know I could order in person I am sure... if you know you know, otherwise you just don't know and that would blow! Also there are rewards to be had in the app, even occasional freebies and points you can redeem for freebies later when you earn enough. Buying in the app ensures you get your precious points!

I haven't tried the hot dogs, onion rings, or cheese fries yet but I want to try them all! Yummy cheese curds, delicious Marinara sauce to pair and I also enjoyed them with ranch (Great Ranch!). Their custard shakes are fantastic as well. Oh yeah, and if you are a pickle fiend like me, their pickles are the BOMB!

They are an American Classic style place, friendly excellent staff, clean facility, and all around a really positive enjoyable experience. Simple, yet elegant. No surprises in what you see is what you will get, yet it's so well done and has some great hidden surprises with Quality and other nice touches they definitely earned their 5 stars all across the board.

I highly recommend this hidden gem. Worth the experience if you like this style of food and dining. Thank you and I hope you enjoy!

Venturing into Freddy's in SM was a delightful departure from the hustle and bustle of its National City counterpart. Unlike its bustling sibling, the SM location offered a serene ambiance, impeccable cleanliness, and top-notch customer service that left a lasting impression.

Upon entering, it was evident that customer satisfaction was a top priority for the staff. Despite being the sole patrons during our visit, the attention to detail and efficiency in service remained unwavering. Ample parking, spacious seating, and pristine surroundings further enhanced the dining experience.

As for the food, it was very good. The burgers, reminiscent of old-fashioned diner classics, were a symphony of greasy goodness that left me yearning for more. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, they were a true indulgence for the senses. And let's not forget about the fries – thin, crispy, and delightfully stringy, they served as the perfect accompaniment to the main course.

In conclusion, Freddy's in SM has good burgers and nice atmosphere. With its delectable offerings, serene ambiance, and attentive service, it's sure to become a favorite haunt for those craving a taste of nostalgia and culinary excellence.

Alessa at the drive thru was very pleasant patient and kind. It was my first time here and she gave me great recommendations on their choices of shakes. I went with oreo and the custard touch to the shake was 5+ stars.

A fun and funky place for families. The frozen custard is excellent. Burgers are unique...smashed. Fries were tasty and hot. Shake was thick, flavorful and yummy.

Probably my #1 burger and fry place. Fries are consistently crispy, unlike other places where the fries tend to get cold pretty fast. The burgers are always really delicious, I usually get the California burger and add some of their fry and burger seasoning to the burger (adds a really nice flavor to the meat). They also have a great fry sauce too. My meal was ~$12. Considering other places in that price range, that’s really great for the quality.

Wonderful! For me they’re still the standard for a smash burger. They have crushed ice, the ice tea was on point (I mix unsweetened with sweetened tea with a lemon). The custard is creamy silky smooth, should be illegal it’s so good. The string fries were perfect too, crispy, Ordered the Original and the Bacon & Cheese steakburgers, so good.
