I love car factories. Of all of human accomplishments, putting together a complex and useful machine in such a wildly organized and precise fashion is one of the most impressive things we do.

The tour is not just the bare factory - it has a few displays an information bits for you to read and consider.

When you first enter, they show you a short movie on the history of the complex, and then you go to another more modern hype-up video on the factory itself. This one is super cool - with some of the "higher dimensional" elements incorporated. It is incredibly well done.

The tour itself is partially guided, and partially at your own pace. If you come on a weekend, it is likely less exciting because production is not running.

Three major parts of the process are not included - engine building, panel stamping, and paint/ecoat. These are some of my favorite parts of the process that I hoped to see.

This is a must do experience! Took my kids and my dad here and everyone enjoyed the tour.

Buy tickets online and get parking online as well. GPS leads you to the building but follow the signs to the visitor parking. You enter the building and go to the blue podium to check in. They scanned our tickets and we were sent to the bus waiting outside.

You are bussed to the actual factory location. It’s about a 10 min ride. You exit the bus and get a small intro and are taken to the first movie station. You learn about the history of Ford. The 2nd station is super cool and you see the assembly process via video and effects.

After this you are sent to the observation floor to see over the grounds. You then enter the plant.

No phones are allowed. You are allowed to have them in your pockets. You have as much time as you want to view the plant. Upon exiting the plant, there is a gift store as well as a few cars on display.

Busses leave about every 20 min. We spent a total of 2 hours at the plant. Which was a good time. Could have gone longer.

Worth it to see the plant! You see 1/3 of the assembly process of the trucks.

Very cool tour from the Henry Ford museum. Here you will see the production line for the F150. Very worth it. Enough staff members to explain everything they do.

Very interesting place! I recommend visiting if you are in Detroit. Very cool show on the second stage. The plant itself and the F150 production process impressed. It's a pity that you can't take photos and videos.

Quite an experience. The manufacturing and assembly section were very interesting. The second short movie was exciting. I’d only expected we will see the engine and power train assemblies too and generally expected more to see. The ladies of tour leaders/ describers were quite knowledgeable.

We gad the all acess tour with factory, museum and village for 191 Dollar for two people. But "all acess" does not mean, that the rides in the village are included. I understand, that the borrowing of the Ford T in the village costs extra. But not including the train ride for nearly 200 Bucks seems a little greedy to me.
Anyway, the factorytpor is great, although no pictures are allowed. The rather small and expensive giftshop is nice. The stuff is very friendly! Take notice that in the museum there is the famous Spirit of St Louis, Rosa Barks Bus and Lincoln's chair, in which he was assassinated!
