I attended the full-day workshop recently. They are the experts! Great teaching interspersed with hands-on projects. I came home with goodies: a bucket, a log, a and some blocks. Well worth the cost of the workshop to try different methods with instruction. This would be a unique gift idea for the gardener or mushroom lover in your life! 🍄The only experience I would add would be to have mushroom tasting as I am not familiar with all these varieties!

First time outdoor wood chip bed grower. I wasn't so sure that it would work. Prepared everything in the fall the year before and we are on our 3rd or 4th flush of Wine Caps. Thank you for the detailed instructions and quality spores/substrate. Appreciate you guys!

Their table-top grow kits are incredible! Had the most beautiful batch of oyster mushrooms in just over a week with zero effort. The instructions were super clear and also included pictures and a link to a video. Plus they have different ways to reach out with any issues, so I felt super informed and supported. I can’t wait to get all the different varieties. Highly recommend! (They also post very informative and interesting videos on social media that are so fun to follow to de-mystify the mushroom growing process.)

First off, let me say that I’ve used Field and Forest for personal and commercial uses since 2016, so that should say something about my views on the company. They provide a consistently reliable product and they get the product out rapidly. Specifically, I purchase the company’s grain and sawdust spawn. I’ve purchased from multiple other vendors over the years, and Field and Forest have always provided the best product, bar none. In fact, I have never once been given defective grain or sawdust spawn from these folks and I’ve probably purchased at least 50 spawn blocks. I would understand if one or 2 go bad in transit (it’s happened to me with all the other major spawn providers advertised on Google) but no. No bad blocks to date. That should say something as well. Also, Field and Forest provides some of the most cost effective products on the market. So 4 for 4 thus far.

But that’s not all I wish to share. The true testament of a company isn’t necessarily when things go right, but when they go wrong. All companies will mess-up, it’s inevitable. How a company responds to the mess-up is the important thing. Recently I experienced my first issue with an order from Field and Forest. I reached out on Sunday and by Monday morning, I had received a response and a resolution that exceeded my expectations. Field and Forest owned up to the issue and fixed it without question. This company cares about its reputation and its customer base. That’s a big thing to me, perhaps as important as the 4 big compliments I paid previously. As such, I’ll keep doing business with Field and Forest as long as I’m in mushroom cultivation. A Big 5 out of 5. Keep up the great work.

No one does it better. You simply cannot find the level of customer service provided here anywhere else. The products work (even if some patience and troubleshooting may be a part of the process- it's a living product after all), the staff is friendly and insanely knowledgeable, and they have great prices. My Shiitake logs are still cranking several years later.

I got wine cap sawdust spawn and it looks amazing. Clearly made with care. I've gotten sawdust spawn from other places in the north east that have been poor quality, I would recommend Field & Forest no matter where you are in the country
