Rustic country market with all the travel necessities. Friendly service. Mask required. Also features a Marathon gas station and a Dairy Queen next door. Great spot in a convenient location. About 2 miles off the main highway. Jealous of the surroundings and the commute to work!

I visited the Evergreen ice cream shop. The employees were friendly and efficient. The cookie dough flurry was excellent. I got a small and it was larger than I expected. I definitely will be returning in the near future. The prices are good for the serving size.

They have stuff you need but....
Stopped in for minnows and firewood today. Minnows are $3 a dozen for smaller minnows, mixed species. I think they pull whatever from the lake and sort them by size. They're kept in a utility sink in a hole in the back with a rigged filter.
Firewood bundles are slightly smaller than the state park but the pieces are larger. The state park wood is just bark slab wood. However, the firewood here is unseasoned so it doesn't burn well and water is just ROLLING out the end.

It's no longer a DQ, it's just a meh ice cream place.

All in all, conveniently located, they have stuff, not a great experience though.

So prices are very reasonable.. But I came up for a week with my family and we didn't go back after our second day experience. Very snotty cashier, they choose who they ID which is super unprofessional. If your going to ID one group you should ID everyone.We went into town for the rest of the week mostly because of the lady cashiers rude comment to my mother.

Poor ice cream experience. The quality has gone down significantly since it is no longer a Dairy Queen. Not many candy piece put in the flurries. Mediums are apparently served in the same size cup as a small. Seems like a waste to order a medium. The soft serve was melty.

Was heading to the UP by myself and had a tire problem on the highway. Got off on this exit and felt like I drove forever before I finally found this place. I'm a woman wearing shorts and tshirts in Mid October(it is a 6 1/2 hour drive to my destination and I wanted to be comfortable) taking the beauty plate off each tire and checking that all lugs were accounted for and tight. At least 6 grown men stopped in the very small parking lot/gas pump area while I was doing it. Not a single one asked if everything was ok or offered to help. I am perfectly capable of doing it myself. Hell, I laid in the rain and changed my starter at 10pm the previous night. Times have changed, most young women don't know basic vehicle maintenance/repair anymore. The store sits at the entrance to a campground. Which in October is almost empty, so looks very foreboding. The store itself is small, dusty and has a WRONG TURN type atmosphere. It was daylight and I still felt uncomfortable. The store has a very limited selection of products. The lady working was polite and helpful which was nice. I can guarantee I will never get off on that exit again!! To far off the highway, eerie wooded area and not very hospitable locals. OH and NO STREETLIGHTS AT ALL!!!
