I’ve been in this store a handful of times since it has opened, including about a month ago. I have never found something to buy. The selection is very lacking. A lot of the typical groceries are clearly bought from Walmart or Kroger and put out on their own shelf. I would have zero confidence in the freshness of anything purchased here, especially meat. The owners posts on their Facebook page have a weird attitude and seem to act like they are entitled to have people shop there or support them. There’s nothing to buy here and it’s clearly not a place for typical grocery items either. You could not come here and do your weekly shopping, and if you tried to it would be 3x the cost of another store. I don’t think this store serves a purpose. It misses the mark for both the high end shopper and the low end shopper and ends up being in a weird limbo where nobody wants what they have.

This was a great store when they were in Fort Gratiot, but since they've moved downtown it's a shadow of its former self. Other reviews have mentioned the parking situation, which is ridiculous for a grocery store. It's not uncommon to have to wheel a shopping cart all the way down a city block to get to your car, which is no fun under the best of circumstances but in the snow becomes a form of torture.

Additionally, it seems that they've gotten rid of most of the great items (and great brands) that they carried before, and have replaced them with oddball brands and specialty items that a customer trying to stock up on groceries would most likely not need.

The store seems to have a bit of an "attitude," if a store can have an attitude. It seems to be a little bit in love with itself, trying to be some "hip" store, but out of touch with the needs of the shoppers who go there.

The worst element for me is the tanking of the deli service. They used to make deli sandwiches to order; now they don't. They used to carry a wide variety of prepared salads; not anymore. They used to carry a wide variety of meats and cheeses; now they have a small handful of meats and maybe three cheeses.

Still, occasionally I would go there. Today was the last straw. I went to the deli counter to order a measly half-pound of cheese (stop the world!), and the employee refused to slice it! She said, "I want to clean my slicer," and insisted that I take a package of pre-sliced cheese, explaining to me that it would remain fresh for three weeks. Ummmm.......that's OK. If you want to clean the slicer instead of serving customers, knock yourself out. But I'd prefer to buy some cheese that HASN'T been sitting in a display after being sliced a minimum of three days ago? Call me a snob, but if I'm paying those kinds of prices for sandwich fixings, I don't think it's too much to ask that they actually be sliced on the same day I'm buying them?!

Most of the employees there are very nice, and maybe they've been told to handle things that way, but for the prices they charge I think it's pretty insulting to people who have already driven miles out of their way, struggled to find a place to park, and found that most of the items they're looking for are no longer there.

I would say, if you're able to spend in that range for lunchmeat and produce, it's more than worth it to make the trip down to Nino Salvaggio's on Hall Road. They have everything you could dream of needing, and respect for their customers has always seemed to be a top priority (No, I have no affiliation with them! But if I'm going to wildly overspend on deli and produce, I'd much rather do it there than at the "new" Country Style).

I left Country Style this afternoon and drove right down to Nino's, and the kid at the counter not only was HAPPY to slice deli items, but made sure the width of the slices was to my liking!! With life already as difficult as it is, picking up sandwich items should not make you feel like crying LOL.

This was my favorite grocery store when it was in Fort Gratiot. Frankly it was the only one around. They ruined it when moving to Port Huron. Selection is horrible, location is horrible, brand name are low quality.
I feel bad for business owner. The worst decision he made was relocating. Hope they can get it back to what it was in fort Gratiot

I LOVE how the owners saw that downtown Port Huron needed a grocery store, and that they renovated a building that sat vacant for years! And as a person w/ Celiac Disease, I sincerely appreciate their gluten-free baked goods! If truth be told, this store isn't stocked as well as their former Fort Gratiot store, but hopefully that will happen.

I love their selection, and their fresh deli dips. Highly recommend the spinach dip and smokehouse brisket dip. They also have Michigan made gift items, wine etc. The basement wine area has a great historic building atmosphere. The prices are a little high on some items but they carry items you can't always find other places. Also helpful staff. Check them out!
