Claros Italian Market was such a solid stop. First off, their grocery section is packed with authentic Italian goods and imported items that you just do not find everywhere. Really cool to browse through. Their bakery case is insane too with fresh pastries made in house every day. While waiting for our sandwiches, I grabbed a mango gelato and it was honestly fire. Super refreshing and full of flavor. Now, the sandwiches. Classic take a ticket and wait for your number deli setup. Once our turn came, I ordered the Angry Joe. That bread was crunchy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the meats were packed with flavor. I threw on some pickles and banana peppers and the combo hit hard. I absolutely demolished it. My wife got the Great Grandpa Joe on wheat sourdough, which has apparently been on the menu for 75 years, and she loved it too.
We will definitely be back. So many other things I want to try next time. This place just has that old school, authentic vibe that hits right. The deli guys in the back making the sandwiches also punched out some jokes while you wait and made it into a whole experience. Was a great time, highly recommend!

I was craving a sandwich and decided not to go with super cheap and ultra processed. However, I didn’t want to drive too far to the one place that I know has a great hot pastrami. So I looked up deli and found this place. Decided to call in an order and was told that there’s no sauerkraut but they have regular yellow mustard on the pastrami sandwich. I ordered the large. I got a little lost inside the store, but eventually found my way to the deli counter and also got some potato salad. The place gets super busy for lunch so calling ahead was the best I could do. Everybody was friendly and helpful and the sandwich was quite good. Lots of meat, not super thinly sliced and hearty.

Been looking for an Italian deli in the Costa Mesa Irvine area came across this place for the first time. I was told to get the Caroline turkey with ham sandwich with mayonnaise and thought overall it was OK about on par with other Italian delis that I’ve been to but nothing spectacular. I ordered a couple cookies and a Dr Pepper and would say ultimately, I’d rather go to the habit for a hamburger for half the price

Best sandwiches and the prepared foods are delicious! Can't go wrong with anything from here. The also have a large selection of pastas, olives, peppers along with wines and cheeses

Authentic Italian Deli and Bakery! I travel to get the imported deli meats. It is very popular and can take some time to get your order. You can phone ahead for your order, and they also make deli sandwiches. But you need to go the first time just to see all the choices and experience the people in the Deli. They are so sweet that when I was trying to decide, they offered a slice. Be careful, I ended up buying so much great food that my family always wants me to go back. We actually now incorporated a meal the day I go and make fresh sandwiches. Delicious! There are no tables. This is not an eat-in location. If you get a full sub and a side item, it will be about $20. But I have never just gotten one item. I bring a cooler!

Thank god for Tustin being home to an authentic feeling east coast Italian deli gem with tons of Italian imports.

Though, they make tasty NYC Italian style classic subs - they do so at the pace of a Southern California retirement home. I nearly died of hunger waiting to order. Don’t come starving. ☠️ These people move as if their on a leisurely stroll.

After the wait and having the great grandfather - I don’t think the sandwich is good enough for an hour long standing session. This is the same sort of sandwich I would expect to get in 1/16th of the time from a hard working fast paced Mexican behind a bodega counter in Brooklyn slinging 20 sandwiches every 10 minutes.

Next time I’ll try the hot bar

This is a Real Italian deli! All the best meats and fantastic sandwiches. The bread is amazing and the guys behind the counter know how to take care of the customers. Can't wait to go again.
