The breakdown.
Food was pretty good but for the price of the platter we paid for it was very small
We got the three meat sampler.
Our choices of meats were pulled pork, brisket and chicken leg/thigh.
Texas toast was over buttered, mac and cheese was amazing especially when you mix the pulled pork one brisket into it.
Pulled pork was seasoned well brisket was a little dry but still good, cornbread was okay.
As for the chicken it was bland and needed seasoning. Our sodas were very flat.
I would come back again but next time it would only be for the pulled pork or the brisket. 6/10

My fav BBQ type is brisket, and theirs is very good. I prefer plain brisket and cornbread, so I ordered the brisket sandwich without the bread and added the cornbread. My husband got the pulled pork sandwich and cornbread, which was also good. When I picked up the cornbread, I was amazed by the weight! It's very heavy (good) and still moist and not as sweet (also good) as many are. Very nice BBQ for a chain. And the staff were very friendly.

Fresh Food- Great Service!
If you want a great salad, you have to try City Barbecue on Westnedge. I love their salad with your choice of meet or just a veggie! The portion is ample and fresh—no wilted lettuce here! I don’t know that I had a better lunchtime salad in Kalamazoo! The service is great, the staff are friendly, and the restaurant is clean! Thanks City Barbecue! You are my salad choice from now on!

Got baked beans with brisket, chicken and wings with Ranch and bbq sauce, greens, and banana pudding everything was delicious clean environment and everyone was super friendly!

I ordered carry out. Was on the road and took a bite of the brisket sandwich and nothing but fat. Don't get me wrong I actually prefer moist brisket this was not it, pure nasty fat had to spit it out and took another bite of the other slice and couldn't even bite down it was so thick and tough. The wings were very good. As was the pulled pork which was nice and moist I might add! Corn casserole had a strange taste chose not to eat that and lastly the fries ice cold even when arriving at 11:30 and they just opened at 11 but they did have a great taste had they been hot . Ordered 2 types of sauces to give a try and got 2 of the same.The customer service rep when I called was very nice and assured me this is not how they do business.

Great food great service great value.
My family has been here multiple times, and we have gotten the mother load. It comes with a little bit of everything and it’s more than enough to feed my family of five. We usually go home with leftovers. my personal favorites are the ribs and the sausage. The brisket is also amazing. The pulled pork is great and the chicken is delicious.
I’ve loved all of the sides as well. The cornbread and baked beans are especially good.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys smoked meats and barbecue.

Overall not good Corn bread came out burnt, Mac and cheese cold, brisket was an up charge and was old, cold, and dry and the greens was old salty and just plain nasty Customer Service was good but food was horrible go somewhere else if you can!!!!!!!

I visit City BBQ's whenever I can as I travel. This joint in Portage did not disappoint in the least. The ribs were done perfectly (as were my sides), there was a happy vibe among the (very polite and cordial) staff, and cleanliness was clearly a priority for them. As usual, I left satisfied, feeling I got great value and service for my money.
