We had so much fun here. Our tour was short because they were going on vacation but it was still fun. We will be going back. Everyone got a gift bag and the option to purchase more. Our guide was informational and upbeat.

On Sunday, July 31, 2022, my family and I voted on Jiffy cornbread as a part of our dinner. As I opened the box of cornbread, I notice black specs that resembled pepper. Before I could inspect, I began to see live insects crawl to the surface of the mix. I quickly snapped a photo of what I saw and discarded the product. On Monday, August 1, 2022, I contacted the merchant that I purchased the product from as well as Jiffy- Chelsea Milling Company. I initially spoke to a receptionist and asked who I could speak to about insects in their product. In an extremely rude tone, she says “That’s normal, but hold on.” After holding for an extended amount of time, I was transferred to a lady by the name of Calissa (spelling may be incorrect), who also said insects in their product is normal and she would be happy to send me a refund for the 6 boxes of cornbread I purchased, totaling $3.54. Not being pleased with either of their responses, I politely ask for a supervisor. Calissa proceeds to take my information and advises me that someone would be contacting me soon. Shortly after, I receive a phone call from a lady by the name of Dawn. Dawn also offers me a refund of $3.54, reiterates what the two women prior to her said and she also informs me that their product is stored in 18 wheelers and warehouses for 4 to 5 months before the product is shipped to stores in 32 countries all over the world. I was still not pleased with the level of concern, even more disgusted and very disappointed by the lack of customer service which prompted me to, at this point, demand Dawn’s superior. Around 2pm on August 1, 2022, I get a call from Howdy Holmes, the CEO. He started the call out by spelling his name to me as if I was illiterate. I was not able to explain my situation nor was I able to get a word in until I interjected and cut him off. Howdy Holmes proceed to tell me that he wanted to call and inform me that other countries consider “critters” as protein and as an American, I am spoiled. He also stated that if dogs can eat “critters” in their food regularly, as humans, my family and I would be fine. He also implied that my home was the issue and had an infestation. After being talked over, insulted, racially profiled and economically stereotyped by the employees and CEO of Chelsea Milling Company, I decided to end the phone call with Howdy Holmes and take measure into my own hands. The psychological trauma that has been caused by this issue has really altered our lives. I find myself picking apart things that I consume out of fear that I may be consuming insects. Since this incident, I have developed a skin condition where I feel a crawling sensation every time it is time to eat. I literally feel like I am going crazy. We have been loyal customers for 25+ years. I expect more professionalism out of everyone, especially you H O W D Y H O L M E S.

A staple of Michigan since the 1930s, keeping it awesome with super friendly people, easy docking on the shipping side and quick loading. If you're picking up a load here, make sure you have all your PO#s!

It was relatively fast to get the truck loaded... (about 2 hrs)
The office (shipping/receiving) is located at the corner of the building ( I posted pictures ) 🤙

Overall this was an excellent plant to pick up at that obviously has the truck driver in mind. This is one of the "old school" shippers who are on a first come first served basis which makes everything run smoother for the otr driver. Got a door immediately along with the time they would begin loading....and they almost to the minute started hitting (loading) us! The staff is friendly and professional which is awesome. This is a little place but with plenty of room for a 53' trailer with a great dirt lot to line a trailer up with the docks should you need it. It is quite easy to get to this plant even with the current construction, (just follow the detour signs- easy). One thing is the lot is smooth concrete and the docks maintained ( no trash or debris like many shippers). We were surprised that this was the original Jiffy muffin mix plant that was built in the 1930's! It looks like there are multiple buildings around the town including this shipper we are at. Too bad there are not tours of the plant for the truck driver, lol.

Great loading experience except the fact they don’t put seal on your trailer and they make you sign a paper assuming responsibility for the load and the only way to cover your self is to count the products! In my case my load has 2886 to counts!
It’s been years since I ran into a food shipper that doesn’t seal loaded trailers for food security and drivers peace of mind. To many drivers this not a big deal but wait until receiver tells you there is one pallet short!
