Our favorite local bakery here in SLO! The kindest staff with the homiest location tucked away a bit on Parker Street. We absolutely love their variety of fresh breads that we take home for sandwiches most weeks. Special shout out to their chai spiced morning bun, their pull apart monkey bread (back in the day), Thanksgiving and Holiday seasonal specials (incredible handmade pecan pies and soft dinner rolls!!), their smattering of rotating scones, and the local Cacti Coffee (drip/bags to go) they also carry in their store. Tons of other great items offered that I did not list as well!

We especially love visiting for their Pizza Wednesday's over the Summer which feature live music and is a great scene for locals and their families! Tons of fun to hang at and equally amazing to take home for takeout as well. Sam and Matt and their entire team at Bread Bike have worked tirelessly to create a gem of a bakery here in SLO that we and many Slocals are so fortunate to have in our daily lives! Make sure to support them at both their shop on Parker and at the SLO county farmer's markets they frequent as a vendor, you won't regret it!

A friend told me about BreadBike a few years ago. She said the bread was phenomenal. I thought "It's bread, how good can it be?" But when I tried it, it blew my mind. It is easily the best bread I have ever had. My go to is the seeded loaf and any baguette they have that day. Give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

This bakery is the heart and soul of SLO. Beyond that, each bite is so full of amazing tastes and nutrients. I love the ginger molasses cookie. Their pizza on Wednesdays has a fabulous sourdough flavor and their ranch and chimicurri are the best combination. The staff are all so friendly and seem happy and that they are enjoying their work together. I also love their seeded bread the seeds add so much good texture. Their bathroom has a really cool mural.
I highly recommend that you visit the bakery if you’re in slo!!

We ran into Bike Bakery at SLO Farmers Market on Higuera Street and bought a loaf of the Greek Olive bread. We saved it to eat the next day on our train ride home and boy I wish we hadn’t.

If we knew how delicious it was going to taste, we would have bought several more items. And more loaves of bread! The bread was soft, with a nice chew. It could be pulled apart or sliced. We ate it with different kinds of cheeses and spread Brie on it. The bread was flavorful with many olives in it.

We want more!!!

I had been looking for authentic European-style hard-crusted bread all over SLO. There are several pretenders but I found the real thing here. I've had both the plain and rosemary baguette and the texture and taste is wonderful. So glad I found them!

Wowowow. Let me just say, as someone who used to be a professional baker for a beloved bakery in SF, this is some seriously high quality, delectable stuff here!

Every single thing I have tried I have loved so much that I could not shut up about how much I loved it while oohing and ahhhing, savoring each bite to the max.

The sourdough - not sure what percent hydration it is but definitely close to high hydration (if not technically high) and therefore has an airy, delicate and sticky crumb that is yum yum yum.

Salted pretzel. Flavor bomb. Texturally supreme. The chew, it is there and it is excellent.

Tahini bar - I'm not vegan and I just loved this thing. Excellent in every way and not super duper sweet, which I like.

The mushroom shallot savory scone.... what?!?!?! So much better than anticipated. I am obsessed. They did not skimp on the add ins and they were caramelized to perfection.

I don't live in the area and I am committed to eating every single thing on the menu and giving them a bunch of my money every chance I get in exchange for their culinary bliss.

Thank you, bakers! Y'all rock! Tipping my hat in appreciation, one baker to another.

Wow, the morning item I got was delicious! EARLY GIRL, I was told is made with Earl gray tea spices and sugar. Similar to cinnamon roll but no cinnamon or white glaze. They look to have basic coffee and chai tea with oatmilk.

My mom and I are addicted to Bread Bike's seeded rye bread. The shop is clean and bright, with lots of plants. Very inviting. I've seen them with booths at Farmer's markets, Saturday morning in Templeton and Thursday eve downtown SLO.
