I really like Bonaventure in Lacey. I find having 1 building that provides Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care is an excellent way for Residents to get all the care they require. Having 1 building vs multiple buildings, allows residents to participate in the various activities offered daily. The building is clean and well maintained. Bathrooms for staff are always clean and adequately supplied. In addition, the food is excellent and the menu offers many options. Wait staff are well trained and very polite and professional.
As a caregiver, I would choose Bonnaventure as the retirement community of choice for individuals looking for a retirement community.

I have been here for exactly two years and have enjoyed my time. There have been a few things I would like to change but very few. Some of the menus are not things I liked such as some of the sauces served on meats. The staff is very friendly and nice. Most of the residents are friendly. The apartments are roomy and comfortable. I have no real complaints so I give you 5 stars.

Hi! Yeah, your phone transfer issues are connecting phone calls for you to my phone!
I received 12 missed calls at 12am while my phone was on do not disturb, and a pissed off voicemail from a woman about an emergency with a patient, and then missed calls from St. Peter's hospital! I stumbled out of bed at 2am to go check on my kids worried someone had snuck out and been injured! So, thanks for that!
Wide awake now from the scare, I took my phone of do not disturb so I would receive the next call and be able to tell them what was happening. 3am. It is 3am and I got two very confused phone calls from someone named Logan at St Pete's hospital.
So now I'm just laying here wondering who died or is dying tonight and no one knows about it because of whatever you use to transfer your calls. I predict another one star review is coming your way soon.
I'll remove mine when you respond that the issue has been fixed. I recommend switching companies because this same thing happened a few years ago too with your calls being forwarded to my personal phone number.

Both of my parents lived here for over a year from 2020 to 2021. We just got a mailing today saying we should check them out ourselves which resurrected emotions from my parents experiences there (both of them are now passed). The sales people there were excellent in convincing you of their services. It all sounded great. But then when they lived there it was a different reality. Let me sum up their experience by telling you the outcomes. My mom lived for awhile in the memory care unit until we moved her out after being attacked by another resident. My father fell in his bathroom breaking his neck and wasn’t found for hours despite using their call system for help. We found out later from a neighbor that the room’s alarm hadn’t worked in years and the management refused to fix it.

If we were vindictive we would have sued them as there was clear I competence involved by management. But that wouldn’t have relieved my fathers injury or nightmares from being left alone all that time unable to move. If you are wondering about the food…here’s an example…one thanksgiving dinner they served pressed turkey, hardly edible. The only positives are the relative room sizes and general facility and location. Also I think the regular service staff try hard. But their senior management never lasted long and didn’t seem to really care about the residents so we suspected the issues stemmed from poor management. Keep in mind this was still during the heart of COVID so I’m sure that was a factor. During some of that time they tried to keep people safe by delivering food to he rooms however it was often cold and very late by the time it was delivered. So take what you will from this…it’s been a couple of years so it may have drastically changed. But I’d suggest talking to residents before you commit to make sure it really has changed and don’t rely on potentially empty promises by management.

My parents moved to Bonaventure of Lacey a year ago. I am very impressed with the management (Misty is executive director) for the last 8 months. There have been many positive changes and when I visit twice a week I feel that it is a warm and loving place. There are many activities to get involved in and I have enjoyed joining in as well!
The staff is hardworking and caring.
I dropped it 1 point because the dining room and food have improved but is still lacking.

Bonaventure has been under new management (with a new executive director) for the past 8 months or so, and this has made a tremendous difference in the quality of service and atmosphere in the facility! My mom is so happy there. The staff work hard to have numerous fun, high-quality outings and activities for the residents, many of which I attend with my mom because they are so fun. The staff are caring and supportive both with the residents themselves as well as with the family members. I am at the facility several times a week, and when I walk in, it feels like home. I am very thankful we found Bonaventure.

Bonaventure of Lacey is a dream come true. The staff are 100% top notch. Every staff member with who I have interacted is knowledgeable and very caring. It is such a comfort to know my loved one is receiving such love, care and attention 24/7. The whole facility is very clean, very nicely decorated and maintained, and convenient. It is bright, welcoming and inviting. Every resident's every need is provided from the dining rooms to the activities to the apartments, and beyond. I highly endorse and recommend Bonaventure of Lacey for you or your loved one!
