Beautiful nursery. VERY impressed by the selection of native plants. The labeling was extremely helpful and so was the owner’s expertise. We felt the plants were reasonably priced and are so excited to plant more natives for our bees, butterflies, bugs and birds.

Would recommend to anybody!

Really enjoyed my visit to the nursery and only wish I bought more plants when I was there. The drive to the nursery was beautiful (even though it was overcast) and the LaMore family was very kind and helpful. I was able to find everything that I wanted and would recommend going here for your planting needs.

My parents and I stumbled upon this nursery and I am so glad we did. This is a well kept and absolutely charming nursery with lots of great plants to choose from! We were greeted almost immediately by Matt and my parents, botanists from California, bombarded him with questions about the local flora. Matt patiently, thoroughly, and expertly answered all their questions and more. He went above and beyond for us. I was also impressed by their signage, which includes pictures of the blooming plant as well as guides and tips for planting (including which are deer resistant). It's clear this is a great place for new gardeners and seasoned professionals alike and I will definitely be making the 2+ hour drive to the nursery whenever I need more natives. This is the ONLY native plant nursery in Michigan with daily retail hours (in season) and a must visit.

We travelled about 300 miles - there and back - on our first visit from our home, Georgetown, to Black Cap Farm. Native Plants for our Natural Dyeing garden are always difficult and rare to find, and they had a nice selection. Everything was neat and organized, and the tags in particular on each plant were very helpful. Solomon's Seal and Joe Pye Weed, Cardinal Flower, and Canada Anemone as well as some lovely Maidenhair Ferns were among several other plants we purchased. The owner - Matt was a pleasure to meet, and very knowledgable. The prices were very fair, and we will certainly be returning in the spring for more. It is our hope that Michigan wildflowers will increase in our gardens and insect and bird-attracting pollinators will become the norm in gardens in the coming years. Our wildlife needs our support!

I was so thrilled to discover this new native plant nursery, just 20 miles south of me. The selection is excellent with many wonderful, hard-to-find species, prices are fair and Matt is so dedicated to what he does, always willing to talk at length about the joys and challenges of native plant gardening.

Great selection of native species, at excellent prices. If you don't want your garden to look just like all of your neighbors that went to Home Depot, this is the place to go. Very knowledgable folks who can suggest the right assortment of plants for you. I would have given five stars, bot they don't sell soil or compost. If they start, I will upgrade my rating.

Haven't planted any of the plants yet. But the descriptors posted at the plants were super helpful and the owner was also very helpful to us and the other shoppers.
