Night and day difference between Barb's and the place I went last year. My deer was more than twice the size but I didn't get much more meat back PLUS it was 2.5x as expensive. There was hair in the meat, the silver skin was still attached, and the steaks weren't cut up or divided. Take your money and animal elsewhere

Worst deer processing ever! Place stinks of cigarette smoke. Got my last buck and largest buck of 50 years of hunting on family land of 125+ years. Lands soon to be sold sadly. I'm positive this is not my deer meat! Way too little amount of venison. I worked in meat packaging for years but had Bard do it due to spouse became deathly ill. Meat full of fur and bone bits! Fresh meat off the highway would of been cleaner than Barbs!

I would NEVER recommend Barb’s deer processing. In 2022 I harvested a Beautiful 10 pt had it processed at Barb’s deer processing. They did not let the deer hang for even a day. The deer was processed in less than 24hrs and the Absolutely worst part is when I opened several packs of venison (roasts/chops) it was FULL hair and some cut bone. They destroyed most of my meat by tainting it with hair. The venison was also poorly wrapped in butchers paper. I could only imagine that they failed to remove the hind or shoulder glands and ground them up into the burger. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DEER to Barb’s Deer Processing!!!

I would give Barbs a negative number! The place was filthy with cigarette ashes n butts where they process. Over charged us 4 fold what others in the area charge. I weighted my deer before I brought it in. It was the biggest deer I've ever gotten. I used to process meat for a living but too busy to do it myself this year. She short changed me at least 35-40 pounds of my meat. The meat is just outright nasty! Never ever go to Barbs Deer Processing. No way is this my deer. My deer was fed for 4 years corn, apples, pears, pumpkin and squash. This stuff is very gamey. Full of gristle n bone fragment. Nobody should be smoking a cigarette as they process paying customers meat. And the place seriously needed to be cleaned. The health department needs to fine this place!

Won't take my deer here again. Pricing is great but you get what you pay for. They use freezer paper only, and don't take the time or care to trim your product. The photo shown is my deer from a freezer paper wrapped package labeled "venison steak". Just use your own judgment and ask yourself if you can cook this in your cast iron and make a good steak? No trimming... gritty bone fragments and bone dust all throughout the meat... What a waste.

Worst deer processing never had any one leave the sliver lining on my deer meat. Very over priced when I tried to call her about the meat she said being it too her which at that point it was already frozen ask for part of my money back and got into a aggressive argument with her. ANY ONE LOOKING FOR DEER PROCESSING FIND SOMEONE ELSE

My first time going to Barb. Although I prefer vacuum sealed venison, this is by far the best wrap job I've seen in 35 years of hunting. I am sure the cuts are equally high-end. Good prices too.
