Experienced the afternoon tea at Alexander’s Patisserie.

Pâtisseries were great. Excellent tea selection which was from Fortnum Mason.
Sandwiches were dry, and kind of tough. Their desserts are usually really good but because it was so hot outside, they were already melting and we were sitting in the shade.

We ordered pescatarian / vegetarian options and they were able to accommodate.

Make reservations as they are required. when we went, they only had outdoor seating so would recommend doing tea during the cooler times as everything started melting during the summer.

I ordered a quiche and hot tea, both were great. The staff was very helpful and kind. I sat in the cafe to work for a few hours and it was overall very quiet and pleasant. I also ordered a ton of other goodies before leaving for a client meet, they loved everything!

Fashionably expensive pastry spot with unattractive ambience.
The pastries (we tried macaroons) were just ok, given the outlandish price.
The highlight was really the staff, who did not issue a single smile during our ordering experience.
Not coming back.

Be aware of serious fraud transaction from this shop. I authorized and paid $43 for three small cakes to go on Jan 31, but was charged $63 in credit bill reported. My credit card company warned me there is $20 (50+%) tips added in the final charge by the shop. This is bad behavior as unauthorized transaction and I could not image how come a high-end bakery could do this for their customers.

Very expensive bakery but worth it. If you like macaroons, come here! Strong flavor, a little chewy with the crunch when you first bite into. Coffee and tea drinks are okay. Not many seats but you can take your pastries/drinks and eat at the Main Street park. I just found out that afternoon tea is being offered at this location 🥳 Can't wait to try it out!

This particular location is very small. They also do not sell whole cakes.

Chocolates: Expensive. $2.50 a piece. While they're not bad (the flavors are quite good), you can get better chocolate at this price range. They're basically two half spheres stuck together. Pretty to look at but...$2.50

Macarons: The shells are dryer and harder than what you normally get at other places. It makes for a stronger shell that is visually pleasing (very smooth and less likely to have cracks) but it's a little weird biting into it. Not bad, just different.

Pastries/cakes: I've tried the chocolate pillow, roxanne and vanilla tart with my favorite being the roxanne (very messy to eat!). All the cakes are beautifully made, delicious, and pricey.

In terms of value: cakes > macarons > chocolates

$15 for a piece of cake. The cake itself is good and tasty, but the environment and the service are not. Experience-wise not worth the money.

One of my favorite patisserie shops, well worth the elevated prices for the exquisite desserts. Cute outdoor seating area, too
