I ordered a half dozen of Silkie eggs and I received 10 eggs. Out of the 10, 5 babies hatched. Before you think this is a poor hatch rate, read on. No fault of Alabama Silkies, my box was lost in the mail for 5 days. I am sure they were not treated too kindly on their journey either. Once they arrived, I decided to incubate them knowing my chances were going to be low to no babies. I now have 5 beautiful healthy baby chicks that I absolutely love. What an amazing hatch rate! This situation speaks volumes for Alabama Silkies amazing packaging and well cared for breeding stock. JD wanted to replace my eggs but I insisted I pay because I wanted specific colors this time. He only charged me for half dozen eggs and is sending me a dozen. You can't get better customer service than that! JD and Charlotte not only care about their birds, but they treat you like family. They are truly genuine, kind folks and I can't wait to get my next set of eggs! Thank you again!

UPDATE: I received a dozen eggs (16 shipped) and I got 12 beautiful babies and a few were a special surprise! They are very healthy and gorgeous! Thank you JD!

Working with Alabama Silkies was an amazing experience from start to finish. The online ordering through their website was easy. I ordered the 12+ package, received 16 eggs and out of these, 14 hatched. This is an excellent hatch rate! Mind you incubating and hatching shipped eggs can be a challenge, much of it depends on how the eggs are packed and how far the eggs have to travel. My eggs traveled across country over 3 days. They were packaged beautifully. I received a variety of colors and also 6 of the chicks are the self blue or "lavender" color which I had requested. Their customer service is exceptional and I highly recommend them to anyone who wants silkies!

Highly recommend!! What a great experience! Called, they answered the phone (!!) Text, they responded 😳 I drove almost 2 hours and picked up 4 healthy and already thriving lil silkies yesterday 💜🐣🐣🐣🐣 after months of inquiring and blocking scammers online, insanity! They took their time with me while I picked my favorites, shared tips and tricks and how tos. They have 16-17 year old birds, now that says something! Cannot describe how great it was to deal with real people who care about their chicks and customers, online can be good but this way of doing business has become hard to find! Thank you!!

Purchased a dozen eggs (they graciously send you 16) to hatch at home and not only were they packaged great, they sent instructions to achieve a good hatch. We had 15 of the 16 eggs successfully hatch and are happy and healthy in their brooder. They offer “egg-Celent” customer service and eggs. Love the range of colors we have! When I need more Silkies I will definitely order again! I highly recommend Alabama Silkies!

We bought 14 babies from them. They are all healthy. They are all doing well. I THINK the 7 that I got have the frizzle gene but I'm not completely sure. Either way. I'm happy.

They really do have THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE.
I have ordered hatching eggs a couple of times now and I've had bad results. With no fault due to Alabama silkies. They are providing beautiful birds for affordable price. I have recently found a new love for these birds and they have made hatching eggs affordable for me. The experience in its self watching my 11 and 3 year old daughters overjoyed at new babies is amazing. With all the issues I've had hatching eggs. (Silkies are just more delicate!) They have completely helped me through the entire process with patience and kindness each time. I'm so grateful that a dozen of their eggs runs around $90. Other breeders for silkies, I have contacted wanted a $100.00 plus. I understand that it's close but still theres a difference. The customer service and kindness is completely unbeatable in my opinion! Started with a lacked of knowledge and I have learned so much from the conversations with JD. Thank yall so much for all your time and knowledge shared!! Praying for this next hatch to be perfect and all the kinks worked out with KNOWING my equipment better! Cannot praise yall enough for the patience with someone that's new and just wants more beautiful fluffy pets! 😍 THANK YA'LL!

Excellent customer service! I was on the fence about placing another shipped egg order because shipped eggs are expensive, have not had the best luck in the past and you never know what type of hatch rate you will receive. After speaking to JD for a while yesterday and hearing how knowledge he is, what a successful business he owns and how well he takes care of his silkies, I had to buy some of their eggs. I ordered 1 dozen and entered a code during checkout to receive an extra 4 eggs. I made a special request to not have any brown colors (no buff, partridge, etc) and the request was fulfilled with absolutely no push back. They have a strong brand and good reputation in the “chicken community” and I am glad I had the opportunity to experience their excellent customer service! Can’t wait for my eggs to arrive and I appreciate JD taking time to explain to me all the “do’s” and “do not’s” to help improve my shipped egg hatch rates! Thx you Alabama Silkies!! And thanks JD for your great service as well as sharing your silkie knowledge with me!!

JD at Alabama silkies is one of the most knowledgeable and helpful people I’ve talked to. He has an abundance of knowledge. I can tell he seeks expert advice and get credible information. I got a shipment of Silkies from a different company. I could tell these little ones weren’t doing well. JD gave me so many tips on how to help these little babies survive. He didn’t have to give the time and effort, he could have told me I didn’t buy them from him to research the information. He didn’t, he was so kind and spent his time helping me to help these little ones. He gained my business from how well he treated us. Not to mention I can tell from conversations how knowledgeable and how much he cares about his babies. I’m looking forward to getting Silkies to add to our family.
