I had sod installed earlier this summer. They did the top part, then came back the next day to finish the bottom part. The bottom part is full of weeds and looks terrible. On July 15th they said they were looking to re-do it that week. Since then I was informed the owner doesn't think it's on them to re-do it. I've been asking for a quote to re-do it since July 27th and have not gotten one yet. They also layed dirt and grass seed between me and my neighbors driveways. Grass didn't grow, just weeds. Can't believe the amount of money I spent for it to look like this. I've asked if owner could go halves, I've asked for just a quote. No reply yet. At this point if I redo the bottom half, it'll probably be a different color.. they were good to work with until I paid in full. I still have faith they'll do the right thing.

They had exactly what we were looking for and at reasonable prices too. The staff was very helpful in finding the plants we'd been looking for: a climbing rose bush and a lilac shrub. They've also got lots of annuals, perennials, trees, and garden tools and decorations.

I definitely wouldn't shop here. The staff are rude and stand-offish. The workers just stare at you w/o asking if you need help. Also, the prices are higher than average.

The older lady working there … very rude. You feel very judged to the point where she follows you around watching everything you do. Then she tried to point out something in a very rude trying to be smart by saying to us because we walked towards the back where they had a huge door open to head to the back garden center which had no signs of do not enter, basically we were just looking around after I grabbed what I needed and she decided to use a tone of she was bothered she saw us and said ‘can I help you with anything because we have all this in the front’ with an angry stare, it really wasn’t all that serious the store basically goes around into a circle with no doors or indications on where you can and can’t go. This isn’t the first time I walk in and feel judged by some employees or mainly the older workers. Last year I did spend money on plants even while having the same lady basically follow me around the entire time but never offering help. I did put my items back and decided I will no longer support this establishment and decided to go to Ace Hardware to get my fertilizer. I’m a plant enthusiast my whole house inside and out.. and this by far has been one of the worse experiences I’ve ever come across. I’ll continue to drive to Alsips or other near by nurseries with way more of fair price including Lowe’s. I try to support small businesses but not for this. It happens to a lot of people and it seems like they only want “certain” clientele and only help those that look a certain way in their shop if you know what I mean … I will not support a business that discriminates me as a human.

We just finished redesigning our entire yard and we're really excited to plant some very specific native perennials. We went to Allen's after going to a couple of green houses earlier in the day and not finding what we wanted exactly. The plants at Allen's are all beautiful and well cared for, we thought we found our go-to place for sure. We realized it was close to closing and planned to come back tomorrow, but had a quick question about a flower in the landscaping in the front of the place with about 7 minutes left until 3pm close.

When I asked the staff member standing at the door to the building looking in the garden center if I could ask her a quick question, I was automatically greeted with "We are getting ready to close" seeming very bothered by my request. I acknowledged that there was still 6 minutes left to 3pm and my question would take 2 minutes max to answer. In a complete huff she marched me over to the front of the garden center and told me that "these plants have been here for 15 years and I can't tell you exactly what it is" but pointed me to a plant she thought it was.

After the interaction, we decided to leave and will not return tomorrow to make our purchases like originally planned. We just felt extremely unwelcome.
