the gnocchi was undercooked, and the sauce was bland and also appeared to be overcooked almost burnt. swordfish was great, cauliflower was undercooked and bland. the ahi fish was not as fresh as expected. the server was spectacular, and appreciated. knowing it's a tourist destination, repeat customers may not be their focus... building looked great, outside arrangement was appealing. I've been told it has been better. sorry for the review, but wanted to be honest.

Food was very tasty - loved the crusty savory ahi tuna. Nice ambience in the evening and seating out on the lanai but honestly the service was not it. They took a while to get us seated (had a reservation) and after taking a while to get our order in they didn’t come check in on us once. Mind you they weren’t even that busy. We had a late lunch so we ordered a very light dinner so maybe we weren’t considered prime customers? It was low key rude.

This was my favorite meal on our Kauai trip.

The restaurant is very cute and cozy with French patio chairs and warm wood interior.

We ordered the tropical sangria, sesame seared hamachi, and the 10oz Wagyu NY Strip to share. Everything was delicious! The hamachi dish reminded me of the crudo I have had at Nobu and Catch 🤤 (but might be better) The wagyu was very flavorful and I really enjoyed the sauce that reflects the Asian flavoring in many Hawaiian dishes. The roasted vegetable and purée sides were amazing as well.

Would definitely make it a point to visit here again next time we are in Kauai.

WOW! WOW! WOW!!! Literally blown away. Came here for dinner on New Years Day. What a way to start off our year! Our family had the best dinner on Jan 1st…how am I ever going to top this with another meal in 2025?! We started off with the Grilled Octopus- so tender & full of flavor, the Edamame hummus- so incredibly tasty where they tempura fried the edamame shells to use as our scooper for the hummus! The best appetizer was the tuna on watermelon with chili flavors in a yellow sauce topped with cilantro & jalapeños that was literally a party in our mouths! Ridiculously tasty! Then the dinners, the swordfish, ahi crusted tuna & wagyu NY steak worth every penny spent! We are quite the foodie family from Northern California & we were beyond impressed! Thank you to the chefs of Postcards in already making 2025 a memorable year! A big thank you to Carly for the stellar service she provided! Can’t wait to return on our next trip to Kauai. If anyone is staying in Poipu- trust me it’s worth the drive for dinner!

We shared the ahi yellow fin and hanalei hummus. They were good but pretty spicy. Husband had the market fish, which was swordfish. It was very tasty. He wasn't a fan of the veggies he got. I got the braised short ribs. I loved my veggies and the two bites of braised rib covered in about 5 bites of fat. They did apologize and comped us a desert. Which was good. There was so much fat left I considered giving it to a dog we saw running around the road.

We had the very best food here! It's noisy inside but we were so absorbed in the flavors we ignored the noise. Excellent presentation of unique tastes and textures. Great service. It was nice to sit down to fine dining after a few days of huts and bars. Highly recommend it! We had 2 appetizers, 3 mains and 3 desserts, 2 beers and 3 waters. This was $250 for 4 adults. These are not gigantic salt and grease laden dishes. This is exquisite food worthy of savoring slowly. More like European dining than American shoveling. BTW we could barely finish the desserts.

A well established restaurant in Hanalei, it's both charming and cozy.

We started with the leek salad and the wagyu gyoza (appetizer special). The leek salad provided a mouthful of flavor. As did the gyoza, however, I would call them wontons.

Then we shared the salmon dish along with the campanelle puttanesca. The campanelle was good, but the salmon stole the show. I eat a lot of salmon and this was easily one of the best versions I've had (quality of fish, temperature, crispy skin and sauce).
