I buy all my propane here, traveling from Hartman to Lamar to do so. I've always been pleased by the friendliness and courtesy of the staff, and their quick service. I always try to tip the nice ladies who wait on me for I believe they deserve that little extra.

BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES.
Beware, if you fill propane bottles here, they will charge you buy the bottles full capacity! Regardless of whether your bottle is half full.
When I talked to the person in charge, she was very unprofessional. Her response was to read the sign posted.
That states they charge by the bottle.
Yes, I didn't read the sign. But how is it fair to the customer to be charged for something they didn't receive?
I will not do business here and will not recommend it.

I have been going to river valley oil & propane for years , yesterday I went and put fuel in my truck made it 2 miles and my truck starts backfiring like crazy would barely run and had no power . I took the truck to Jim's auto and radiator ( mechanic shop ) and had them drain fuel to examine .it had water in it , I took videos of everything the mechanic did ,and I had my fuel receipt and took them to river valley to talk with owners . I was told it didn't come from them when my truck ran perfect before I got fuel there . I am not the only person this has happened to recently. I WOULD NOT recommend getting fuel here.

For 7 years I've done business with RVP and don't have anything bad to say. They've been great. I've at times have been slow to pay. They have still treated me polite and totally professional. If you don't choose RVP for gas and propane then you are foolish. Thank you to all that work for RVP.

Bad service, probably the worst. Getting them out to fix a leak is impossible.. called several times for em to come out and fix the valve on the tank, said the would but never did. Lost all my propane.

I had river valley come pick up my tank a couple weeks ago. They said that the full tank of gas that I had in my gas tank will be refunded back to me. I gave them two weeks to give me the refund and called them today and they let me know that they were not going to give me my refund back to me. The secretary put me on hold and let me know I would not be issued a refund! I asked her to let me talk to Ann and she would not get on the phone with me to answer my question why she was stealing my full tank of gas!! I will be taking them to court n will make sure the general public knows how shady n slimy of a business they are!! I also got sick one time and was going to go by and give Ann her check for my propane but on account of falling ill I came home and gave check to driver which called her husband Jimmy to see if that was okay. I gave him the check and went on home. My husband stayed and talked with the driver as the gas truck was filling up our chicken house gas tank. My husband said Ann showed up out of nowhere going off n rambling that I was supposed to bring her the check at the office and my husband explained to her that I fell ill but gave it to the driver under okay orders from her husband!! She showed us that day she was not playing with a full deck and we no longer purchased our propane for the chicken houses from her. So now she is mad on account of that and came and picked up the tank I was renting from them n stole my 90% gas tank full of gas!! I would highly recommend to not ever do business with these thieving people!! They also stole from the electric company by putting magnets under their own chicken house meters! They got in alot of trouble over that! Should have known if they're that slimy then they would do me wrong too!! I honestly don't think they ever gave me the propane they said they were when I ordered it on account of my percentage gauge on my tank would not hardly move up but when I ordered gas from another company it would!! Coincidence, I think not!!!!

A leak started at the tank shut off valve! Its been over two months since I have told them! My parts still are on back order! Now I don't have any propane! And they will not refund any of the propane that was lost in the old tank they were renting me! Don NOT do business with these guys! If your tank leaks they will not cover it.! Other companies will. I lost $780 worth in two months without using any propane because of a leaking 50 year old valve. Law suit
