We stayed at the primitive campsite for Thanksgiving. There was a bonfire pit already set up with bricks and camp chairs, so all we had to do was collect wood from the surrounding area and light the fire. It seems like a well used pit, and there is a lot of ash/charcoal in the pit.

We car camped, but if others plan on tent camping, the ground is hard and gravely, and there are lots of thorny dead branches on the ground. So, take care.

In spite of the primitive site, both of us had all 5 bars of service. So, that's a plus!

Leroy brought out a porta-potty for us and offered us a tour of the Alpaca farm, even though it would have interrupted his family time for Thanksgiving. There are dogs there that protect the horses, donkeys, alpacas, and whatnot, and since we had a dog with us, we declined the tour to avoid problems between the dogs. For sure, we can go back another time to tour the farm. Based on the reviews here, it sounds like a tour that is very much worth it.

Leroy also warned us that at night there can be javelina and coyotes that will get into any food we leave out.

We felt safe there at that campsite, and every now and again, a neighbor came near to check on us. Once the clouds parted, we enjoyed the night sky, saw shooting stars and the milky way, and simply relaxed.

It's a great way to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Thank you Leroy and Paula!

We had an amazing stay here at the farm. We also got a super cool tour and learned a ton about alpacas. I really had no idea that they came from camels. I also didn’t know that camels were around in the North America and South America‘s. All of these facts I learned here. We also got to see how they process the alpaca hair and make all the things which was super cool, I definitely recommend coming here. Everyone is super nice. Just a great all-around business the views are also pretty awesome.

When my wife setup this outing I was very skeptical. Honestly I was expecting 2 of each farm animals at a small watering hole. Instead we were received by a very pleasant guide who showed us around a local well put together Alpaca farm. The chickens are a bit crazy, but funny. They have a couple of mini horses as well as full size horses also. However, the main attraction are the alpacas for sure and you will not be disappointed. I lost count of how many Alpacas they have on this farm. Our guide was very informative and did not rush us through the experience. My children enjoyed sharing the air w/ the Alpacas and the gift shop is full of souvenirs to select from. They do take credit cards, however, cash is also accepted. Support your local farms and small businesses, take your kids, any visiting family I would recommend this on your to do list. Have fun and let them know Ry'n sent you.

This is a great stop for your family vacation. Everyone will love these sweet animals. Even the dogs, though huge (they protect the herd from predators) are among the nicest, gentlest, creatures I've ever met. The store is full of ponchos, wraps, rugs, gloves, toys, yarns, socks... more things than I can list.
But, the things you could make!
They have batts for quilting (yes, so much better fill) and very important insulation. Every time an animal is shorn, there are three grades of wool. Nomads, Please consider using the 2nds and 3rds to insulation your builds. It's not only natural, but it's very water and fire resistant. Think about the problems it will solve. And this place will ship.
Good people here.
