This vendor charges premium money for their plant material. We bought a large Vriesea splendens.
They use Shop Pay so the initial transaction was fine.
The plant shipped promptly and was properly packed.
But, we got a delay in delivery notice from UPS. We contacted the vendor for help.
No answer.

The plant arrived four days late. In this summer heat wave the flower was cooked. See photos.

So we payed premium money for a specimen that looked worse than anything we find in at a local grower for a fraction of the money. So we contacted this vendor again. They said talk to UPS. Not our problem.

So take home messages
Don’t order material during adverse weather conditions.
Don’t expect this vendor to help with fighting off the shipper.
Finally, if you are suspicious. Don’t accept the package at delivery. We should have refused the package.
Finally,
We buy ALL of our tropical material by mail order. The good nurseries care and know they are competing with cheaper local retailers. We have had great tropical material arrive for our in home “Florida” greenhouse which we maintain in Maryland.
This vendor is expensive and doesn’t a hoot.

Green virtues is overall the best business where I have bought my unique house plants. I have met the owner and I have never felt so welcomed and special when conversing with Daniel the owner. In addition, I was very content with the order provided. If you have any doubts, DONT!!! THE BEST UNIQUE PLANT SELLER IN AZ!!
