The best corned beef in Michigan honestly, Their sandwiches are so good they'll have you begging to come back. I usually order two and break the other one down and have corned beef and hash in the morning with my eggs It's delicious. Have I mentioned the pickles that come with a sandwich? They are truly unbelievable and out of this world.! I can't really agree with this review being only five stars because for corned beef and deli Sammies this is definitely a 10-star sandwich shop. The sandwiches come with around a pound of meat, and they are truly a New York style deli right here in the heart of Detroit. There are multiple locations so when you're at lunch break and have nowhere to go check this place out you'll be thumbs up in this review guaranteed. Definitely check online as well because this location just happens to be carry-out only so there's no place to sit down but you definitely can enjoy your sandwich in the car or at the home or office.

Some of the other reviews are 🧢‼️ Given I paid almost $30 just for the sandwich. It was in no was as small as the other are trying to portray. 🤦🏾‍♂️ I ordered the ‘Pound It” which is a pound of corned beef and it definitely was an enormous sandwich. So I had no issues paying the cost. There was something in the sandwich that looked like a bone/wood fragment (from the cutting board maybe) in my sandwich that I bite into. 🥴 It’s not pictured & I didn’t call and complain. I just prayed it was nothing else & continued to eat it cautiously. I say all that to say; the sandwich tasted amazing. But in an effort to give an honest review I had to tell the whole story! 🤷🏾‍♂️

I went to bread basket about 10 years ago, and it was great. It was the first alternative to Lou's deli that I would be happy about. So we went there today and we ordered two sandwiches and we tried their corned beef egg rolls for some reason. I ordered the bread basket sandwiches which is like a dinty Moore but with Swiss cheese. I ordered the original size sandwiches and I was a little disappointed. The last time I went here the sandwich was stacked so high I could barely bite it, and the meat was very tender and thinly sliced. There was a lot of flavor from the Russian dressing and the tomatoes. This time I could barely taste the sauce the meat was a little salty and a little bit more tough and the bread was tasted old and stale. It was falling apart.

The corned beef egg rolls were actually good crunchy on the outside the meat was tender and not too salty. It's amazing you go there mainly for corned beef sandwiches but then the egg rolls are better.

Anyway someone actually told me that Bread Basket went downhill over the last few years but I didn't believe it so I wanted to verify for myself and guess what they were correct. I wouldn't count them out as they have I believe a locations around Detroit area so maybe they might take customer service and get back on track or maybe the next time I visit Detroit they'll be gone like many other businesses who don't care about customers or their reputation. I usually find that restaurants that are just greedy and trying to make a buck they don't last.

Normally the sandwiches are on point. I’ve been coming here for a few years and one employee has been a staple and consistently professional, it’s Vic. With sandwiches being almost $20 for a 9 oz corn beef, please make it correctly! No one has the time to waste to go to work just to have your lunch messed up. This pic CLEARLY shows that the 9 oz paid for, is not what was received. So if JUSTIN is on the board, either go somewhere else or definitely DOUBKE CHECK your order before leaving. My hubby had to bring half the sandwich back AND the receipt in order to have it remade.

I may have to go back to Al’s on Woodward because this is the SECOND time the food was wrong. Then to be told, “he weighed all the sandwiches.” Either he can’t read measurements or he didn’t weigh out 9 ozs of meat. Pick one but DO BETTER especially when folks are paying almost $20 for a sandwich AND we tip.

The food is great however this review is strictly based on the hours. If there is a sign on the door that presents the “New business hours” it should be open during those hours. I drove 15 minutes to this place just to get there with the door locked and an employee lip talking “Sorry, we closed EARLY”. Very disappointed!!!!! Now I’m scrambling to find decent food for my family to eat on a very busy night for my household (Absolutely no time to cook).

I went to the Farmington store. I asked the cashier about the Double decker sandwich. His response was very rude. He thought I was on the phone but I wasn’t I talking to the customer behind me about how rude he was being. But as he’s talking with his back turned. Automatically I’m thinking he being rude. Then he tells me he not taking my order and I can leave. I have never been treated so rude before so I got mad and cussed him out and left. I will be sharing this story with any and everyone I know. I was just about to place a big order and I couldn’t believe how I was being treated. I’ve been going to bread basket for years since I was a child. I promise you if it was you, you wouldn’t patronize this business. I’m never going back there. I also have 2,000 followers on Facebook and 5,000 followers on instagram. I will be sharing this with everyone. The short long beard man at the register needs customer service training. Because clearly has no clue how to treat people.
