I had Jeremy Thompson process a deer for me, and received only 25 pounds of meat, far less than the expected 40-50 pounds for a deer of this size. I’ve harvested multiple deer of similar size and have never experienced such a low yield. He claimed this is all a deer produces.

On top of that, Jeremy provided only one 5-inch tenderloin. Deer have two tenderloins.

My shot placement was clean, hitting the heart and breaking through the ribs on both sides, so the meat was not significantly damaged. When I raised my concerns, Jeremy dismissed them, implying I don’t know where the shot landed, and tried to accusing me shooting the deer in the hind quarters. However, I’m 100% sure of my shot placement. I know for a fact I shot the deer through heart and it went through the ribs on both sides.

Based on this experience I could never recommend Jeremy.

This situation leaves me wondering whether the meat was mishandled, discarded, or intentionally withheld. Either way, this level of service is unacceptable and feels dishonest.

Did a great job last year and some of the finest summer sausage ever. This year, they had my deer done in one day. Really glad to find someone this good, this close.
