I would give them ten stars if I could. The food was top notch, the service was great, and the prices were fair. We didn’t get to check out the backyard, but the playroom inside was awesome for keeping the kids busy. I have to imagine the outdoor area is awesome for friends and families when the weather is a little nicer. I would highly recommend The Backyard and will definitely be back.

Great food and atmosphere. Tons of games to keep a hockey team of 14 year old boys and their siblings busy! Live music was great!
Drinks were fantastic and food was delicious and served super quick (especially given the size of our party!) I wish we were staying in the area longer so we could go back again!

First time here and what an amazing experience! From our waitress, Bella, who was sensational and exuded top notch service. We had the pickle pizza, brussel sprouts and the pbj burger. All very tasty and the Brussels were the best we've had within a 50 mile radius of your location. The atmosphere is very charming and family friendly. I kindly give this place a 5 star rating for not only Bella's wonderful attitude, friendly smile and knowledge of your menu items but also for the rest of the staff as well. Great menu items, great service, keep it up.

We stopped here on our drive back from detroit. We needed a place where our son could play and have some fun while we had lunch. It was the best place ! The food was delicious. They had a room with glass windows full of toys where you can see your kids playing while you relax. There is a big outdoor area for summer activities also, we didn't get to enjoy it since we came during winter months.

It feels like this is finally a family focused restaurant that thought of everything. The staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and our kids had so much fun playing. Everyone was understanding of the dining with young kids experience, and it made the whole lunch so much more relaxing. The owner, Kelly, is so kind. There was a fairly abrasive customer while we were there, and I thought she and her staff handled it well.

First time here. I didn't know it existed. It's very kid friendly and family oriented with tons of things to do outside and a kids' playing area. It's not for me, per say. I didn't care for the beer selection, and I'm not an outdoor person, and I no longer have small children at home. It doesn't hurt to give it a try. This place just isn't for me and my husband.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Backyard Restaurant in Kalamazoo, MI, and it was an incredible experience! From the moment we arrived, Maddie, our server, made us feel right at home with her friendly and attentive service. Micah, the bartender, crafted some of the best margaritas I've had, especially during happy hour—definitely a highlight. The cooks, Aiden and Sydney, prepared our food to perfection, and the Caribbean rum wings were absolutely amazing! They also took the time to snap some great photos of our large group, which was such a nice touch. The atmosphere had such great vibes, and everything from the food to the drinks to the service exceeded expectations. I highly recommend checking out The Backyard for a fun and delicious experience in Kalamazoo!

I recently visited The Backyard of Kalamazoo and had an exceptional experience from start to finish. I ordered the burger with pulled pork and bacon, and it was absolutely outstanding. The burger was juicy, the pulled pork added a perfect smoky flavor, and the crispy bacon brought everything together beautifully.

Beyond the fantastic food, what really stood out was the outstanding service. The staff was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without hovering. They also knew their beer selection well, recommending a local brew that paired perfectly with my meal.

One of the best parts of The Backyard is the outdoor play area. It’s perfect for families with kids, offering a safe and fun space where children can play while parents relax and enjoy their food. The laid-back atmosphere combined with the play area makes it a great spot for families to dine out together without any stress.

Between the incredible service, top-notch food, and family-friendly environment, The Backyard of Kalamazoo is a place I’ll definitely be returning to. If you’re looking for a spot that caters to both adults and kids, with great food and drinks, this is it!
