The views were beautiful, and the bread and appetizer were good. The service was also good. But my French 75 was pretty bitter and the old fashioned wasn’t too sweet and it was watered down. The scallops were fine, but the filet mignon was so unflavored, overdone and charred that it tasted more like a cheap sirloin. I heard good reviews about this place and left pretty disappointed.

We came here for brunch as soon as we got off the ferry. Sitting on the patio is amazing with beautiful views of the water. The service was fast and friendly. Our food came out hot and tasted really good. It was a perfect start to our day on the island.

Leah was a great and well informed server who was able to give us detailed information on the foods served. The steak sandwich, gazpacho and charcuterie board were all excellent. “The best BLT,” may not actually be the best of all BLT’s, but it was very good.

AMAZING! A must-try restaurant on Mackinac Island! I admit, it is a little pricey,but the food, the atmosphere,and the views are totally worth every penny! We went there for lunch and sat on a patio/deck. The views were spectacular, plus our kids were able to run around on the beach, which was an extra bonus. The cocktails we ordered were so good! We knew we were in for a treat, but the food truly hit the mark! The shrimp and asparagus salad was refreshingly yummy, the steak sandwich, as well as the whitefish sandwich were really tasty. We absolutely loved their french fries (one of the best I've had!), their sauces (horseradish, tartar), and their flourless almond and orange cake. So good! If you're looking for a great place to relax by the water while having a beautifully presented meal, try the Carriage House, and you will not be disappointed!

Update. We went back tonight for dinner. I had the lobster special not listed on the menu. I’m forever ruined from being able to eat lobster anywhere again. Absolutely the best I’ve had period. And our desert was great as well. Homemade cherry pie a la mode.

This place was the highlight meals of our whole trip and we are going back tomorrow morning for breakfast again on our last day for our last meal.

There was a mixup with my carryout order, Justin was working at the bar this evening and quickly sorted it out, he offered me water while I waited and asked the kitchen to expedite the meal, which they did. This is easily the most beautiful place to dine on the island, though it's not required at all, many people dress up to dine here, making the experience just a little nicer. And, leave time to enjoy some of the most beautiful flowers available in this northern climate.

We loved our dinner at the Carriage House! Our waiter, Jake, was amazing and hilarious. The service and food were top notch. I had the lake fish and really enjoyed it. The waterfront location, live piano music, and big windows were perfect to enjoy the beauty of Mackinac Island!

Sat at the bar (didn’t have a reservation this time) and enjoyed lively interactions with the well traveled bar tenders and locals. The quality of light and color that come in through the patio windows makes this place feel like everything great about being on Mackinac Island! French onion soup and asparagus salad were the perfect light lunch I needed to fuel another pedal up the Grand hill.
