It's hard to put into words how special this place is. Sure, it's beautiful. Yes, it's sustainable. Of course, the staff are down to earth, fantastic locals. But it's more than that. Kids are welcomed. Dogs are welcomed. They have a list of native plants found of the property. The wood stove and fireplace are going when needed. There's a wee B&B. I mean!!!! This place... I'll be back.

I was on a road trip from out of town over the holiday weekend and this was a place recommended by a friend. I decided to make the stop and was immediately greeted when I walked in. She recommended some wines to me and I had a glass while looking around the beautiful fields. The wine was good. Unfortunately, it started to rain and then got extremely busy. I was on a road trip with my dog and didn’t want to keep him in the car alone for too long, so I couldn’t wait and had to leave without getting a bottle. Might have to buy and ship one online! They also had live entertainment. I would recommend stopping here.

Everything about this place was amazing. The view, the wine, the staff, and of course, the cute dogs! We were able to sit outside and enjoy our wine and charcuterie board with a spectacular view. Ellis was very knowledgeable about the wine and very friendly. I would highly recommend checking this place out! After we had our wine, we went to Torch Lake because it was so close. We cannot wait to go back!

If I could give a Ten Star rating I would. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 the wines were delicious, I enjoyed the dry reisling and my friend had the Bellini. The young lady that served us was amazing. I'm bummed I don't remember her name! She was so helpful and knowledgeable. They have the cutest Air BNB available right on their property. We can't wait to return!! Thank you for everything!!

I spent the weekend with some friends in Central Lake, and was treated to WaterFire Vineyards. What a wonderful little gem! From the moment we arrived, I felt welcomed, and their wine is so good. I highly recommend the Dry Riesling, and the Cuvee Blanc!! I will be back, and I'm telling all my friends!

WaterFire Vineyards gets a 10-star mark for their COVID protocol and enforcement. They have found the perfect balance of assertiveness and courteousness, if there is such a thing. When we arrived, very late in the day on a Thursday, we were the only people at the vineyard. My 70-year-old mother tried to sneak a moment of non-mask-wearing and was promptly shut down. But in a nice way, I guess. I liked that.

The vineyard was - like most - beautiful. I'm not sure how much I care that their wine is SIP Certified, but that's another matter. There were only 4 or 5 wines to sample, but they were fine. Granted, we were there late in the day, but there's something about a vineyard that isn't overrun with tourists (like us) that makes a visit so much more enjoyable. No waiting. No rushing.

What a quaint little winery tucked off the road just outside of Elk Rapids. Ellis was my wine connoisseur and she was very knowledgeable. I did the wine testing. There were 3 of their wines, one fron Oregon, which is on the 45th parallel as well, and they had a cider. The cider surprised me. It was nice and light. The wines were delicious. Highly recommend checking it out. They also do an airbnb and she took me on a tour. Would be a wonderful place to stay.
