This is easily the best small brewery in northern MI. Incredible beer brewed on sight, creative, unexpected, delicious. No notes.
Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. And the space feels cozy and welcoming. Like hanging out in a friend’s home. I’m super impressed for this business being open less than a year. Would 100% reccomend

Concur with all the reviews saying this is the best brewery in northern Michigan! Every beer I tried was fantastic, and the space they’ve set up is awesome. It is bring your own food or you can get stuff from the food cart outside (not open in the winter). We brought are two small kids, and there was plenty of room for my toddler to move about. They also had a corner of books, including some kid books and couches for him to read on. We tried to come back for trivia night, but they were packed. I would definitely try and go for their other events in the future! Easy parking in the lot adjacent to the building.

Love this brewery! Great addition to the Petoskey beer scene. I tried a flight of beers here and it was great! Lover of all sorts of beers - my favorite was the Fairy Slipper Vanilla Milk Stout very smooth. Great to see non-alcoholic options too. Love the natural light here!

Elder Piper is a newly opened brewery in Petoskey, and I am so glad I checked it out. It is located just south of the main downtown district. It is right next to the new Downtown Greenway which is very cool. They were actively removing railroad tracks for the conversion while I was there.

The owners gave me a wonderful tour of the facility. I was impressed with the mix of new brewing technology and historic charm. The bar is made of reclaimed wood from the renovation – neat! It’s clear that much thought and planning was put into the design of the brewery.

Elder Piper has a nice offering of beers and cider. I am more of a beer drinker, but the cider I had was delicious. It uses apples from the area, and I can appreciate that. The Beach Grass Helles Lager was my favorite, and my wife loved the Thimbleweed Hazy IPA. It is refreshing to see a mix of different beer styles even though the brewery just opened. We ordered a flight to try other beers, too. All of them were tasty and defect-free, which can be hard to find sometimes…

There are some snacks available for purchase, but I think outside food can be brought in. The taproom has plenty of tables and seats. They even have a collection of games for guests to use.

We didn’t use the outdoor area, but it looks very cool. I will enjoy a beer outside in the beer garden next time I go. Elder Piper is a great new addition to the Northern Michigan craft beer scene, and I can’t wait to come back.

My wife and I recently visited Elder Piper and were pleasantly surprised by the family-oriented atmosphere. It was a welcoming environment that made us feel right at home.
I sampled a couple of different beers, and my favorite was the “Beach Grass Helles Lager.” It was incredibly refreshing and had a clean, crisp taste that stood out.
We had such a great experience that we will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

A comfy converted industrial space. Warm and friendly, the owners and employees are fantastic. The beer is excellent, well executed. Their cider might be one of my favorites. It is very unique, dry with floral funky notes that is great.

The only place I know of that you can order a flight of kombucha! I'm not always wanting alcohol so I found this refreshing and I loved the Vanilla Kombuch. Dog friendly, which is a must in my book. Bring on the vegan food trucks! Very friendly place!

I love all they have to offer. Fun events including yoga, trivia, and beautiful blooms by Open Sky. Tasty drinks including beer, cider, and NA options. Welcoming, kind owners, and family friendly spot. So lucky to be able to frequent this place. Highly recommend!
