I recently purchased a lawnmower from Tom, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. Here's why Tom deserves all the stars:

- **Knowledgeable:** Tom knows his stuff! He explained all the features of the lawnmower in a way that was easy to understand, without any jargon.

- **Friendly:** From the moment I walked in, Tom made me feel welcome. His friendly demeanor made what could have been a mundane purchase into a pleasant experience.

- **Honest:** There was no pressure to buy, and Tom was upfront about what would suit my needs best. He didn't try to upsell me on features I didn't need.

- **Efficient:** The whole process was quick and smooth. Tom had the lawnmower ready for me to test, and he even offered to deliver it to my home, which was a huge plus.

- **After-Sale Service:** Tom provided me with a thorough tutorial on how to use and maintain the lawnmower. He also gave me his contact info for any future questions or issues.

Thanks to Tom, my lawn looks better than ever, and I'm thrilled with my purchase. If you're in the market for a lawnmower, or any garden equipment, Tom is the guy to see. Five stars all the way!

All three departments know their stuff. Sales, service, parts. Yes, JD prices but you get JD quality. Good things are seldom cheap, and cheap things are seldom good!

I've been a customer since 2000 with D & G .... now under Hutson I've continued my business with purchasing a Zero Turn in 2023 ... My Sales person "Eric" is knowledgeable & good natured ... All went smooth ... since then the parts department has done a good job with maintenance supplies ... Oil .. Filters & Other Yard needs ... I've had a good experience at Hutson.

A few years ago, I purchased a John Deere Gator from Bader and Sons in Portland and picked it up at their South Lyon location. After some use on our farm, I decided to buy JD’s Home Maintenance Kit from the South Lyon store to keep it running smoothly.

Recently, Hutson acquired Bader’s locations, and I needed another maintenance kit. I decided to buy it from the Howell location since it’s much closer to home. I couldn’t be happier with my experience there. I guessed the correct kit number, and the service representative verified it for me. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating. The transaction was quick and easy.

During some small talk, I discovered he lived nearby but previously worked at the South Lyon facility. It was great to hear how happy he was with the reduced drive time and savings. It’s always nice to see someone who truly appreciates their job. Overall, a fantastic experience at Hutson in Howell!

I used to be a loyal D&G customer and never had any issues with them. However, since Hutson took over, my experiences have been disappointing. When I walk into the store, I often feel ignored by the staff. Despite this, I always try to be polite and overlook their poor attitudes.

What I find unacceptable is being given the wrong parts for my equipment, even though they are supposed to be John Deere experts. But the real issue arose when they attempted to charge a 25% restocking fee for a part that I was not informed was a special order.

Here’s what happened: Since I have been given incorrect parts in the past, I decided it best to take all the parts with me to match up. These included a new tensioner pulley, a new belt, and a bracket that I thought was bent for my mowing deck on my John Deere. Rob was the sales person to help me. I gave him the model, the year and the serial number of my equipment to ensure the correct parts were pulled. He searches in his computer and grabs the items one by one and then when it gets to the bracket he informs me they don't have stock so he will have to order one. Before he even gave me a total, I asked him if I could put my son's number on file for pickup to which he said he could. He then suggested I prepay for the part so my son didn't have to pay at pick up, which I agreed to.

The next day my husband returned from a business trip, he looked at the bracket and informed me the bracket was fine. He installed the parts and the mower worked as it should. At this point the bracket is still not in our possession. My son receives a call a few days later that the part is in. My husband happened to be home so he headed up to Hutson to let them know it wasn't needed, to get a refund and purchase some other items he needed for our chainsaws (which we also purchased from Hutson),. When he arrives at the store, per usual, he was met with attitudes at the service counter. He rarely gets angry, but he was understandably upset with the poor service and being told there would be a 25% restocking fee for the bracket. After involving the manager, the restocking fee was waived, but I question why it had to escalate to that. I was never informed this was a special order, I was never informed there would be a restock fee. If I had been informed, I would have waited for my husband to look at the bracket before dropping a couple hundred dollars to order one. Additionally since I was given the option to prepay or pay at pickup, that does not indicate a special order. If I hadn't have prepaid and decided not to pick up the part what would they have done?

I will be taking my business elsewhere. To the owner or management team: your 3.8 rating and responses suggest that you haven't engaged with your staff to improve the shopping experience for customers. Consumers have many options, both online and in other stores. If you don't get it together, you will continue to lose business.

My husband and I purchased our tractor in June of 2023. So far we have used it for mowing only. 35k for a mower and I have had it back in the shop 3x now soon To be 4. You will have it again for repair for the 4th time tomorrow. Tell me why a machine with less than 60 hours used as a mower has busted 4x. This last time we have had the tractor back less than a week and bolts are literally falling out of my tractor. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. My husband was comped an oil change for all if this inconvenience. I'll be contacting our lawyer today as I find this absolutely beyond unacceptable. Why are all of the replaced parts so dramatically different? Did we get an old tractor no one cared for? What about the inspection that clearly no one completes. Im done with this. Do not go to hutson howell. I'd like to also point out I had family purchase the same tractor a month prior to our purchase and it looks entirely different! Why?! Did I just get taken advantage of?

Poor customer service. I was the only customer in the store wanting to buy a snowblower. 4 employees in the store 1 in sales 2 in parts and one in service. After walking around looking at snowblowers for about 10 minutes with none of them saying anything to me or offering any help I left and bought elsewhere.
