I was disappointed with my recent visit to the Bakery Restaurant. The food quality didn’t meet expectations – the hash browns tasted like they were just frozen and microwaved, lacking any real flavor or texture. When we brought it up to the server, she simply said ‘sorry’ without offering any solution or alternative, which was disappointing.

I was also surprised to see an extra charge for peanut butter, which seemed unnecessary given the already high prices. Overall, the food felt overpriced for what we received, and the service left a lot to be desired. Not sure I’d come back, unfortunately.

The quality has definitely gone down as the prices have gone up
I ordered Chicken and Waffles for $21.86 and was given 3 frozen chicken straps that definitely came from Costco and an entirely too small wannabe Belgian Waffle
This place is nice, always great service, but portions, prices, and quality have definitely gone down

How this place has 4 stars is beyond me. Long wait to get someone to come to our table and take our order. Coffee tasted old and not very hot. Prices are absolutely crazy high. I got the chicken fried steak and eggs… I couldn’t tell you what type of meat I was served but it was awful. What little taste the gravy had wasn’t good. The hash browns were cold… won’t be back, ever.

I had the Seafood Combo (battered & fried halibut, shrimp & clam strips) and it came with fries, garlic bread, a side of vegetables and your choice of soup. Soup of the day was vegetable beef and it was good! My daughter had their waffle. Good food and friendly customer service. Thank you will be back again for sure. ?

So not worth the money. The food was sub par and for the quality and serving size it's way overpriced. I would not eat here again. The staff is friendly and the service was great, but not the sandwiches. The cheese on the "grilled cheese" was barely warmed, not close to melted. The Reuben had two pieces of meat and I had to search for the Swiss cheese. Also - when the Reuben says it comes with dill pickle it's sliced and IN the sandwich. That really altered the traditional Reuben taste and not in a way that I enjoyed. And I like dill pickles. The fries were good, The cole slaw was watery and had an odd taste. It was a half cup serving for $5.99. I had 1 bite, my husband had 1 bite to confirm and I told the server it wasn't good. She said she'd relay the message, but I had to request it be taken off my bill.

The atmosphere is nostalgic and maybe the breakfast is good - the menu is mostly breakfast foods, but the food we tried was not good.

We will not return.

I really liked the food here. It was a quant environment and the lights were dim and just cozy. Our waitress was attentive and the food came out relatively quickly. The gravy could use some bacon fat in it to give it more of that down south gravy taste, but was hearty. I will go back to try it again. The reindeer sausage is pretty good.

Great food and service at this old nostalgic place. Since I went to college at UAF in the late-90's, The Bakery itself nostalgic, and the "new" location, which is is the original Food Factory, is also cool memories. A must-experience for locals and tourists alike!
