Back in October a week before Halloween I visited this farm and I would be happy to share my experience. They have a variety of animals ranging from chicks to horses and this farm is not only a place for animals but it is also a place of history, because one of their houses is “haunted” which really makes it kinda spooky. They also have many things that relate to history like the machinery for the crops and washing towels. The farm is very kid friendly, they have a nice farm themed playground. One of my favorite activities was getting to feed the baby chickens, and I noticed that there weren’t the same kind of chicks, they had a variety.

Wagner Farm is an absolutely phenomenal spot and it is free. It is mismanaged by the Glenview Park district and would be a better place if someone else was running out. For example, the farmers market is very nice. However they have very limited amount of farmers. You can go to the Wilmette farmers market only about 8 miles away and there are four times as many farmers. It’s still a nice place to take the kids and it is free.

Free! What’s better than that? Great place to spend some time with kids to explore. You don’t need more than an hour or so to see everything but plan for longer if they have special events. They had cows, horses, pigs and chickens when we were there, not sure if any other animals were inside though.

The historic Wagner Farm is a great place to visit with children of all ages. A well maintained farm with animals that are well cared for. Entry is free as is parking. There is a children’s play area and corn hole(bring your own bags). Don’t feed or touch the animals and please pick up after yourselves to keep it a great experience for everyone.

There are plenty of picnic benches around, so bring a picnic and don’t forget to get ice cream and farm fresh goods inside!

Nice little farm, with chicken, pigs, a veal, horses and cows. You can see them milk the cows in the morning and at 4pm. The animals are friendly and you can pet most of them when they come close.
They have a playground, which is nice for the kids as well.
During the week, weather dependant, they do horse pulled or tractor pulled rides for 4$ a person.
At the end of September, there are pumpkins for sale and it makes the cutest photo background.
They also sell a bunch of local apples 1.50$/lb, pumpkins 55cts-65cts/lbs, little flowers bouquets 5-10$, and some goods cooked at the farm with their eggs. -they do sell eggs (7-8$ per dozen) too, but they aren't always available.
Easy free parking right across from the farm.
