The worst customer service I've ever had to deal with in terms of processing animals. Don't have any opinions on their market, but I'll pay more to have my animals processed down the road. If I could give a zero star, that's what they would get.

Friendly and very accommodating! I’m also impressed with the way they package the hamburger. It’s in a nice, flattened rectangle, and stacks perfectly in the freezer. Ours is packaged as 2 lbs, but breaks apart into 1 lb squares...very handy. Wrapped to a “t” in both plastic and paper. The snack sticks and jerky are great, too.

Very kind man helping us with exactly what we needed. We were in search of Potato Sausage, traditional Swedish food, He had plenty of it to go around!
While in the wee got half pound of his awesome smelling beef jerky, regular and hot! So good!

Lesson learned...
A friend of mine purchased a side of beef and split with me. The meat was processed at Burdick Meat Locker and Meat Market. The hamburger is ground as 70/30. I specifically purchased the beef so that I would get 90/10. The hamburger has so much fat and grease in it, the only way to cook it is to ground it up. If you try to make a hamburger patty with it, it falls apart. Meatloaf looks like mush even with an extra egg. This is super frustrating because my mom just had a heart attack and I offered to give her some of that hamburger because she needs extra lean and now she can’t even use it.

The meat is so greasy that I have to use a brown paper sack as a drain just to be able to get the grease off, then I have to rinse it three times and then before I cook it in anything I have to rinse it again in order to not have grease floating at the top of the pan. The quality of the hamburger is like the quality of the meet used to buy in the 3 pound rolls and every once in a while you get an eyeball as a surprise in the meat.

I work about 100 hours a week on average, so I do meal prep on Sundays to save time. I was a strict vegetarian until the age of 23 so I am pretty particular about my meat. I was super excited when a friend asked me if I wanted to purchase a quarter of beef. So I wrote the check and went on my merry little way thinking great now I’ve handled something and I will have a little extra time on my hands. I was really a little extra excited because I had had a meal over at his house and the hamburger he cooked it was super lean. Of course this was from the last side of beef he purchased.

Burdick charged $1.80 a pound in processing fees. I personally know the person who took the cow to be slaughtered and I know it was quality meat. I will never have meat processed at this place again, in fact I would encourage everyone to find a new meat locker. It’s pretty shady to ground meat up with 30% fat just to increase revenue based on processing fees. It was a marginal gain for a lifetime loss. That is the last $708 they will ever receive from me.

It’s not even about the money it’s the principal. Even though it didn’t really hurt me financially, what would’ve happened if I was struggling financially and spent all of this money on something I wouldn’t use? As a business owner I am pretty angry. I would never do someone dirty like this.

I found this place by Google, had no idea where Burdick was, called, the gentleman said he raised hogs, told him I wanted a whole hog and gave my butcher instructions. Picked up, got back to Salina, and fried up some pork chops. I'm very impressed with everything, about my purchase. I WILL BE BACK. THANK YOU.

I took 12 hogs to them to be butchered and they processed better than any butcher in the past. I am very impressed with their service and price.

Quality butcher. Worth the almost 2 hr drive to have livestock butchered.
