I brought in my DR walk behind trimmer in July 2024. Nobody seems to know what is happening with it. Nobody knows where the parts I left with it are, and have herd different excuses. Shop manager told me last week that he was on it and it would be taken care of on Tuesday. I came in on Thursday, and as usual Nobody knows what is going on.It has been over 7 months. I have been Very patient. unhappy with the inept, incompetent people there. Can't believe this place can stay in business.

I took my 2003 Snapper walk behind mower with a Honda motor into this shop for repairs. The mower wouldn’t start and hasn’t started for 3 years. The service technician(s) here repaired my mower and it runs as if it were new. The mower needed several new parts so I was expecting a huge bill but it wasn’t huge at all. I was really surprised. I’m not the easiest to please, but I am so satisfied that I felt compelled to write this. It should be noted this was the second opinion shop for this mower. The first place I took it to told me the engine had blown and was unrepairable. Well, the engine was never the issue. I have a brand new mower now, thank you Gold Country Power Equipment!

Went in and bought a ~600$ chainsaw based on recommendation from a female staff employee (very nice lady but I am terrible w names, only lady I’ve seen in there), and she got me familiar w everything I’d need to know since it was my first time owning a saw. I had a lot of questions and even flooded the saw as soon as I tried to start it at home, tried to air out the chamber like the internet said but nothing was working after about like 45 mins. Brought it back and the mechanic was able to get it started up and give me some additional tips on unflooding the saw that I didn’t see online (all for free). Overall, staff is great, friendly, knowledgeable. Steve (I hope is his name lol) also gets a special shoutout, very knowledgeable and happy to share his knowledge. Thanks Gold Country Power Equipment! Oh and protip bring in a checkbook or cash, save some $!

I just hit 10 years on my Husqvarna riding mower, and these guys have kept well maintained, and serviced, along with just great folks, and neighbors to me. Thanks for all the therapy sessions I adopted with my mower. It has gotten me thru rough times. BRAVO!

Quite a bit over priced. Waited a week to get a chainsaw blade sharpened, which is a 10-minute job if you're doing it by hand and file; for 8$ more I could have gotten a new Lazer sharp chain off of Amazon.
Initially I would give 3 stars possibly 4, but I had my experiences downgraded... while I was there each of two times, I heard negative remarks made about items being picked up from the repair shop. Coincidence? Let's hope so!
Room for improvement, however, a tidy sales room and team behind the counter save'd em from an abysmal rating of one.

• I own a Honda self-propelled lawnmower that was subject to a Honda recall. I followed the recall instructions and was provided with names of Honda certified repair facilities. I chose Gold Country Power Equipment (GCPE) because it was the closest. They confirmed the recall with Honda, and I took the lawnmower to them on February 9, 2024. GCPE advised the repair would take approximately 3 weeks. I checked in after 2 weeks and was told all is well and promised the unit would be ready at the end of the following week. I did not know then, but this was the start of a 3-week period of false representations, recycled excuses, and false promises that I believe we’re made in bad faith. After more than a month, I told GCPE that on the Saturday after it was promised, I was going to pick up the lawnmower, regardless of its condition. I picked up the lawnmower that was the rolling lawnmower deck and the rest of it literally in a cardboard box. It is my observation and belief that GCPE was arrogant about their incompetence. They should have been much different because they were literally handing my lawnmower back in a cardboard box. I told the individual that he was not a nice person.
I contacted Honda, and they sent me to another certified repair shop. I received the repaired lawnmower back, in new condition in a little over 2 weeks.
I was advised by the shop manager that GCPE had disassembled the lawnmower beyond what was necessary, and numerous parts were missing. Honda authorized the repair which was double the cost it should have been.
In my opinion, the only reliable item that works at GCPE is the front door.
Beware of GCPE and if you use them, be prepared to lose the use of your equipment and your money while being treated with arrogance and no respect.

I have a brand new generator that I bought on the internet that had what I thought was an oil leak. After waiting 2 months for a local company to repair it I gave up and called gold country equipment. I called them on a friday, dropped it off saturday and they had it repaired by wednesday. Super friendly professionals all the way around and very reasonable prices. I will never go anywhere else in el dorado county for my many equipment needs.
