Awful experience with this company. In fact it may take the cake as the worst customer service I have ever received.

I placed an order last May for shopping bags, but started having the bags break on customers before my new order was complete. I attempted to contact my rep to find out he was no longer there because his email bounced. When I told a new rep that I couldn’t go through with the order that I had placed a month before because the bags were breaking, they told me the order wasn’t in their system. That was when I was told that my rep had been doing orders on the side, hence why he was no longer with the company. They told me in order to cancel my order of cheap bags that I would have to contact the old rep to cancel his “side” job…it was a challenge to find contact info for him. Central Coast Packaging wouldn’t really do more than place a new order for me. I got little assistance with dealing with their ex-employee who basically was scamming us. It was like they washed their hands of it and let it be a burden on me, the customer, who was completely in the dark prior to them sharing the truth. Customers should have received a letter after the rep left. Yes, it is embarrassing, but sadly, this sort of thing happens in businesses. Some employees have zero character and morals, but as the company, since they are your employee, you have to own up to it and take care of your customers…not leave them in the dark until it’s a problem. I honestly should have walked away from the mess at that point.

I was given a husband and wife team as my new reps and they were “meh.” The husband was great, but the wife, who I ended up dealing with more for my new order was rough. She would sometimes take days to a week to respond. Sometimes I would have to try a 2nd time to get a response. When I finally thought that I had placed the order of new bags, she came into our business 2 weeks later with a sample of the foil asking if it was right for the order. I found out at that point that my order hadn’t been placed and by that point, I was running out of bags. I had to order blank bags to get me through till I got my new order of custom bags. It was frustrating. I finally got the new bags after 6 months of headache of dealing with the old rep to the new reps…luckily my bags came from Los Angeles rather than China as it would have ended up being a total of 9-10 months waiting for bags.

My next order went a lot more smoothly, but the manager dealt with me saying they were working on a new rep for our area. I had a little more hope at that point, BUT 2 months ago it was my next time to order. Guess what…no response from anyone. Maybe they are closing and just haven’t told anyone. Regardless, I have moved onto a new company that is out of state that gets orders completed with fantastic service. I want to support local business, but not with the kind of stress and chaos this company put me through. Who would have thought that shopping bags could be such a difficult thing to order? Crazy.

I have done business with Central Coast Packaging for the last 5 years. I have placed orders for 1 box and for 500 at a time. They have always come through for me without exception. They are first class and treat their customers with that old school way. Best in Class without a doubt.
